Mark here from Ditchwater
Here are the interview questions:

1.Can you tell us when was the band formed and who/why formed a band? Discography?
I formed the band in 1993. But never got serious with it until about
1996. We went through a lot of line-up changes until the band
solidified in October of 1999. We put out a 4-song cassette demo in 96,
but only me and our drummer Jerry "J.J." Romero were current members to
play on it. The style of music was a lot different then. Bassist Bret
Basick joined in 1998. We then Put out a 3-song CD entitled "Ground
Zero" in the first half of 1999 with a different vocalist. Our current
release, a 4-song CD entitled "Breakdown" was done in May of this year
and is the first to feature our new vocalist Bill Matthews.

2.Bands line up:
Bill Matthews-Vocals
Mark Anderson-Guitar
Bret Basick-Bass
J.J. Romero-Drums

3.About the name of the band, who found the name, what does it means, and was it hard for you the find the right name.Does it fits to to music you play, did you change name?
A friend of the band gave us the name Ditchwater in 1993. It doesn't
mean anything, we wanted a band name that didn't have a direct meaning
to it, so that way our music would best define our name and not our name
defining our music. It wasn't too hard to come up with the name.

4.Describe you local metal scean,is metal dying there?
The scene has been almost dead here for a while, although it seems to be
coming back recently. There seems to be a lot of bands getting record
deals out of Chicago now (Disturbed, Lungbrush to name a few...), and
the clubs are actually opening up to the idea of letting heavier bands
play. Hopefully the scene will pick up even more.

5.What is your opinion about bands such as Metallica,Slipknot,Korn,Coal Chamber,Iron Maiden............
Well haven't listened to Metallica since 91', Slipknot is one of my
favorite bands. We played a show in Des Moines Iowa recently and 3 guys
from Slipknot were there. We got to meet and hang out with them. They
are really cool guys! Korn and Coal Chamber aren't my favorites but I
can listen to them. I just recently picked up the new Iron Maiden
album. Thought it was ok, but was expecting something along the lines
of Bruce Dickinson's solo stuff.... (Chemical Wedding was a great album)

6.What is the music stile you are playing and can you compare it to some similar bands. What are your favorite bands?
My favorite bands are Slipknot, Fear Factory, Pantera, Machine Head
etc... I guess we are a mixture of those bands if I had to compare at
all. I also like the bands I grew up with such as Iron Maiden, Judas
Priest etc...

7.How many show did you played and by your opinion what was the best?
We play about 2 or 3 shows a month. Our best show to date would have to
be the show I mentioned earlier in Des Moines Iowa. Shows that aren't
in our local area are my favorites. I like to travel

8.Who write your lyrics?
Our singer writes 90% of our lyrics, I write the other 10%

9.What is your opinion on gore/grind metal?
I don't really listen to that kind of metal. Our singer is into a lot of
that kind of stuff though... I think

10.Can you describe us your last album/demo,do you plan to release something new soon?

It is a 4-song CD. The songs are heavy, yet maintain groove and melody.
The songs will have you singing along one minute, and then have you
going crazy in the pit the next! They are very diversified. We just
released this CD in May of 2000. We hope to hit the studio again in
August or September, depends on how well this current CD does...

11.Say something for the end?
