1.Tell us little about bands history, who formed the band and why ,when was band formed, also where are you from?
Feidakis and Zaxos started playing together at 1993. Then in 1995 Frantzis joined the band to add the electric sound. It was the time that the band played covers from groups such as AC/DC, BLACK SABBATH, MOTORHEAD. At March 1996 Krimpenis joined the band, carrying guitaristic influences from groups like Savatage, Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force, Megedeth, influences that took form in writing lyrics and music with the rest of the band. At March 1998 the first demo-CD "Faded Pages" was out. Due to the lack of permanent lead singer at that time, Mutiny could use some help. The help came from the singers of SWAN CHRISTY (Kostas Makris) and SPITFIRE (Alexis Balakakis). The demo did quite well, selling over 350 copies (the band still receives letters about the first demo). However, the lack of lead singer was consistent, many vocalists tried out, but didn't work out. Finally, Zervanos filled in the gap at November 1998. At February 1999, the band played a gig in a rock club "Rock House" and the place was almost full. The band worked on new material and recorded a promo-CD "Guilty as Charged" which was out at July 1999 and started looking for record deal. A new record label "Steel Gallery Records" from Salonica, Greece offered MUTINY a deal and the contract is signed for one full CD/LP. In September 2000 Steel Gallery Records released the first full CD "Muted" by MUTINY. Currently (December 2000) we are working on the distribution and promotion of "Muted" and we are getting ready for some gigs which are going to take place from the beginning of the year 2001 and on.

2.The bands line up,did you changed it since beginning or are you planing to change it?
As mentioned before, the line-up hasn't changed. There were just additions to the original members.

3.Who gave the name to the band, and did you changed name since early beginnings?
The name was given to the band in 1998, just before the release of our first demo CD "Faded Pages" and it hasn't changed since then. We decided on the name by talking to each other and voting for it among a pile of different names.

4.Can you describe your music and compare it to some similar bands?
We say that we play a mixture of heavy, power and progressive metal, most people refer to it as "USA-school" power metal. I don't know if there are bands that we sound similar to, but there are a lot of great bands that have influenced us as musicians. Someone can say that we have been influenced by almost every great band in the rock, hard rock, heavy rock, heavy, power, progressive and thrash metal.

5.What is your favorite band?
There is a bunch of bands that are the favorites for every one of us. Black Sabbath, Savatage, Judas Priest, AC/DC, Megadeth, Metallica, Helloween, King Diamond, Mercyful Fate, Dream Theater, Symphony X, Shadow Gallery, Pink Floyd, to name a few.

6.Who writes the lyrics and can you describe them?
So far, I write the lyrics. The lyrics are a result of thoughts, feelings and sometimes the effect of either the situations everyday life or the things that happen in the world. Sometimes I write a story, but it is always provoked by a real life situation. There are no predetermined thoughts when I start writing the lyrics, the words and the expressions just pop up as I write and usually express the state I am in at that time, the things that bother me or the things I like.

7.How many times did you played live,do you have some special act when you are on stage, and what was you best concert?
So far, we have played only once. I can say that it was fantastic ! We haven't got some special act or something, we just get out there and give our best so that we and the people watching it have a great time listening to our music. We had the time of our lives, so we are anxious to do so again and again. The people watching the show liked it very much, they really had a great time, at least that's what they said.

8.Can you tell us little about your local underground scene?
In Greece there are a lot of bands that are struggling to make their music heard throughout the world. The fans here are very warm and they welcome most of the bands from abroad and from Greece. In addition, there are some great fanzines that are really supportive to the bands that really deserve it. Let's hope that in the future, our scene will grow and be respected world widely.

10.Plans for the future?
We plan to play some local shows in Greece from the beginning of the year 2001 and to record the follow up to "Muted" in the same year, probably under Steel Gallery Recs. Again, but we surely will consider other labels and proposals, too.

10.Say something for the end?
Thanks a lot for the chance you have given us to be heard. Keep the music alive and active! Don't close your ears to new things, it's the only way that we can keep metal alive. A great thanks goes to the people that have heard our music or will do so in the future!
