1.Can you tell us little about history of band,who formed the band,when,why.............?
COFFIN TEXTS formed after the break-up of L.A. Based Gore-cult band ENTETY
in late 94, due to Problems with the vocalist Jack Ortiz. We thought it was
better to start fresh with a new image. We asked ex-Demolition Drummer Marce
Castro to form a band with Me (Robert Cardenas-Bass) & Richard Gonzalez on
Guitars)

2.Current line up,did you change line up since the beginning,if you did why,and do you plan to change the line up?
I the begining, we had planned to make a 4 piece band, but had problem filling the vocal slot, so I ended
up doing the vocals which ended up working out in the long run. We
currently fired our drummer due to differences & might have a replacement
by the end of the month.

3.Discography?
We have only put out The "Gods of Creation, Death & Afterlife" CD on Dwell,
but we have been on numerous Tributs, such as Morbid Angel tibute, Black
Sabbath Tribute, Slayer & a couple of others.

4.Can you little describe us your music,and since the beginning did you change the music style?
No, we have always had the same style & we don't plan on changing it. We want to keep it heavy, Brutal & Grinding fast forever!!!

5.Your favorite bands,and what are your main influences.In band do you all listen same kind of music or...........
Favorites: Old BOLT THROWER, OLD
CARCASS, OLD ENTOMBED, IMMOLATION, MORBID ANGEL, OLD PARADISE LOST (Lost
Paradise Era). I listen to a lot of different types of music, from Hendrix
to Rush & Old Metallica to Krisiun

6.Can you describe us little metal underground scene in your country.Are there many new bands that play this kind of music and are there many people who support underground bands?
The Metal scene here in Los Angeles is Different from the early 90's, but it's getting better. It Died out for a while, but seems to be on the rise. As for bands, there are good bands & band bands everywhere. Then there are the vet's of the underground that keep the scene alive, like Sadistic Intent, Infamy, Rise, Sepsism. HORNS UP FUCKERS!!

7.Do you know something about metal scene in my country?
No, I have't head any bands from there, send me some demo's, I would like to
hear the brutallity from across the Globe.

8.Can you describe us your latest material?
Heavy, Brutal & Fast. Same as before but the songs are longer & alot more
guitar harmonies. we have a sond that is about 13 minutes long, it consist
of about 14 different rythyms & drum patterns

9.Was it hard for you to find the right name for the band,did you change the name?
Yes, it was. We got the name from a friend called Carlos that played bass for the band Demolition.

10.Best concert that you played on?
To numerous to mention one: Ohio Deathfest 2000, Milwaukee Metalfest 2000, Rochester New York, Springfield, MO, The INFERNO in Minnisota  on Tour with INCANTATION & SKINLESS. CBGB's
in New York with CRYPTOPSY, USURPER, DIABOLIC & DICIPLES OF MOCKERY in Oct. of 2000

11.Do you like gore movies?
EVIL DEAD, THE BEYOND, GUINEE PIG, DAWN OF THE DEAD, AMITYVILLE HORROR!!

12.What do you think about noise art(music)?
Like Disgorge (Mexico)? Remindes me of old ENTETY, It's brutally sick!!!

13.Beside your band does any of you play in some other band or did any of you played in some other band?
I also play in a band called ENGRAVE
(Speed Death from Hell) & Me & Richard in the process of forming a band
with old Entety drummer formerly in INFAMY & INFAMY Guitarist Mark
Castillas, we will keep you updated.

14.Can you describe us your lyrics,who writes them and what are they about?What's your favorite song that you made?
My lyrics are written to warn & make people think about death a little closer. They are stories of Spiritual adventures, such as Spiritual attachments ( Revengeful Entety), Grounded Spirits (Earthbound), The laws of Balance (Their Bodies, our Souls) & Concepts pertaining to Guidence in the spirit world like Speels & Incantations to guide the soul to the next world (Ethereal Conjuation). Our new stuff pertains to the same, but at a different leval. Titles such as "UNSEEN WORLD", "TO MANIFEST" & "DIVINATION'. We are a very spiritually aware band.

15.What do you think about new political situation in Yugoslavia?
I not to up on political stuff, but I'm hoping things get better around the
world, The animal spirits are angry at us for destroying our enviorment and
killing all of them, beware of eating meat, eventully, we will all not be
able to ever eat meat again.

16.Do you have any jobs beside playing in band?
I work at World War 3 Records. We just put out "HATE-HOLY DEAD TRINITY,
BELFEGOR-THE KINGDOM OF GLACIAL PALACES, FOG-THOUGH THE EYES OF NIGHT..."
for america. So, Prepare for War in 2001

17.Do you plan to record a video in future?
We were hopeing for the next release, but not for the "Gods" release

18.Do you believe in god and  devil,and what is your opinion about church,and sect?
I believe in Negitive & Positive energy's, Animal spirits & Reincarnation.

19.Plans for the future?
Record the 2nd. COFFIN TEXTS full length & hopefully tour in late 2001.

20.Favorite cartoon?
Simpsons

21.What do you like more the sound of metal of 80's 90's or the sound of new wave  metal bands such as Korn,Slipknot,Linkinpark,Papa Roach and similar bands........80's ?
