HOW TO POST Massages
To post massages via e-mail
or Web-based form, follow the
directions below:
- To Post Messages (For subscribers only)
- Note that ONLY subscribers may post, so please subscribe first
before attempting to post. Note also that the Listserver is setup
so that subscribers may ONLY post from their subscription e-mail
address (i.e., the address from which they initially subscribed).
For example, if you are subscribed at work, but not at home, you
will ONLY be able to post from your work e-mail address.
- Send your intended posts to bsang@bigfoot.com.
Posting Guidelines
- Postings must pertain to Environmental Biotechnology, or related
topics, and fit into one or more of the following categories:
- Technical questions/discussions; and/or
- Announcements of new resources (e.g., technical publications,
books, guidance documents, software); announcements of upcoming
events (e.g., workshops, conferences, symposia); calls for
papers/presenters; and other non-commercial information on
resources. (Note that unsubstantiated vendor claims are summarily
rejected.)
- Postings must include pertinent subject
headers that begin with either "EB:" or "Re: EB:"
(e.g., EB: Enhanced Biodegradation of Polyaliphatic Hydrocarbons) and
the full name and e-mail address of the sender must be included in the
body of the post.
- Never attach electronic files or HTML
documents to posts. Also, make certain the entire post is a plain text
document and is not encoded.
- When replying to a post, include only the pertinent section(s) from
the post to which you are responding (e.g., do not include the
Listserver administrative footer from the original post).
- NEVER send administrative requests (e.g., "unsubscribe me"
requests) of any kind to the mailing list as they will be rejected and
the requested action not taken. Instead, refer to the EB Home Page
("Membership Info" page) for information.
- Only send your message once to the Listserver. You
can always know if a message was accepted if you receive it back from
the Listserver in the same manner receive any other post.
- Because software packages are of general interest, some flexibility
is extended to software developers for announcing new products upon
the condition their posts are: 1) informative, 2) non-commercial in
content, and 3) infrequent. Providing such announcements stay within
these bounds, and meet the other established guidelines, they will
likely be accepted.
- IF YOUR POST WAS NOT ACCEPTED, IT IS LIKELY IT
DID NOT COMPLY WITH AT LEAST ONE OF THE ABOVE GUIDELINES. BEFORE
SENDING A COMPLAINT TO THE MODERATOR, PLEASE CAREFULLY REVIEW THE
GUIDELINES TO MAKE SURE YOUR POST FULLY COMPLIES.
- Note that the EB discussion group moderator may make minor,
non-substantive revisions to posts to bring them into compliance with
posting guidelines.
- Note that EB reserves the right to terminate the membership of those
attempting to post off-subject messages or using inappropriate
netiquette.
