This picture was painted during Crowe's time in Boulogne in the summer of 1902, using a French model called Ernestine Leroi for the girl milking.

A 'Landscape with Outbuildings and Cattle - Milking Time'  (perhaps a sketch in oils for this painting) was sold at auction by Messrs Furber on 22 February 1911, fetching 12 shillings.

This picture was painted in Boulogne in the summer of 1902, using a French model called Ernestine Leroi for the embroidress.

'On August 26, 1346, on which day was fought the Battle of Crécy, it is stated that "Edouard III mounted a windmill", etc'

Crowe visited Crécy in the autumn of 1902. The old windmill had been torn down in 1888, but Crowe sketched the field, and a nearby windmill, to create the composition. This painting was one of those remaining in Eyre Crowe's possession at his death, and was sold for £5 15s 6d at an auction of his remaining works at Christie's in London on 18 March 1911.

According to his diary, this picture was inspired by a rough sketch made by Crowe on 10 September 1884. It was begun in Boulogne in July 1902.

This view was painted from Crowe's window in his lodgings in Etaples, Normandy, which he visited in September and October 1902.

A companion to The Kitchen Garden, this picture shows the pond at Etaples in Normandy, where Crowe stayed in September and October 1902. This painting, then called Etaples, was one of those remaining in Eyre Crowe's possession at his death, and was sold for £5 5s at an auction of his remaining works at Christie's in London on 18 March 1911.
