If it's wild, it's bright and it shows her belly, Aqua's Lene will be wearing it! This Norwegian babe kicked off her career as a game show hostess, but you certainly wouldn't mistake her for that these days. With her wild red hair, tattoos and girrrl power, Lene is a lass with bags of attitude. Unlike most celebs, Lene steers clear of designer togs and posh frocks. She loves to shop at markets and high street stores and loves to look different!

From a girlie brown perm to bright red, Lene's hair is never the same from one week to the next. When Barbie Girl hit the charts she had long straight hair, but not any more! These days it's red, red, or red! If you want to copy this look, it's easy! Lene refuses to dye her hair and goes for extensions! "She either fits them at the front or wears them all over," says a pal. "She's always looking for new styles to try." Maybe she'll go green next!

Wild and wacky!

Forget jeans and a t-shirt, you'll never see Lene in anything but bright colours and belly-bearing tops. Check out this fluffy bra-top mixed with a feather boa - not an outfit to meet your boyfriend's parents in! Lene loves to create her own look and admits she makes a lot of her own clothes. "I love experimenting," she says. "In fact, when I was younger, I used to love making  complete outfits from scratch!"

Real or fake?

Lene loves her huge old tattoo, but it's a big fake! "It makes me look tougher and boyish," she reveals. "And I've worn it since I started in Aqua!" But would this girl ever go for a real one? "I think so," she says. "But I just haven't decided what to go for yet!" In fact, she's only just plucked up enough courage to have her belly button pierced!

They're big, they're baggy, they're Lene's trousers! Lene loves trousers big enough to fit two people (maybe she could fit Rene in them too!) Combats are still cool this summer - and they're getting bigger! Try Miss Selfridge or Hennes for some real corkers!

Aqua first got together in Copenhagen in 1996, fueled by the great passion for music of Rene Dif, Lene Nystrom Grawford, Claus Norreen and Soren Rasted. Their first single was "Roses are red", but their first hit was with the single "Barbie Girl", which has sold millions of records.

Number  11 :
Why are they called? Halfway through 1996, Rene, Soren, Lene and Claus were in the studio, recording the songs for "Aquarium" but the group still didn't have a name. On a wall of the studio they noticed a poster advertising the national aquarium of Denmark on the wall and decided to call
themselves Aqua.

Number  12 :
Rene and Lene, are the explosive Aqua frontmen. Rene was born on 17th october 1967 in Denmark, began his career by working  as a Dj on the ferries and is nicknamed Diffedrengen. Lene is Norwegian and was born on 2nd october 1973. She spent a few months working as an assistant presenter  on TV and adores Betty Boop and Marilyn Monroe.

While Rene and Lene are the "faces" of Aqua, Soren and Claus are the creative soul of the band: they write the songs and play all instruments. Soren was born in Denmark on 13th June 1969 and began by writing music for children's films, while Claus was born on 5th July (there was written July! But we all know that his birthday in June!!:) 1970 and worked as a petrol pump assistant before joining Aqua.

Number  14 :
Aqua is the most successful Scandinavian band after Abba and Roxette. They have become millionaires with the sales of "Aquarium" and the singles "Barbie girl", "Doctor Jones" and "My oh my". Here are some interesting facts: they can't stand alcohol (Rene), cheese (Lene), boredom
(Soren), normality (Claus).

LENE'S RAY OF LIGHT!
Not content with singing about sunshine, Lene Aqua has admitted to spending every spare moment catching rays. She's recently had an eight foot wall built around her home so she can sunbathe in the nude - now if that's not a case of the sun going to your head, we don't know what is!

"Around The World" video comments :

The video for "Around the World" was really good, especially with Rene and Lene playing '60's bandits stealing the red gem.  Lene's hair was absolutely FANTASTIC and Rene was very attractive with his way of singing with Lene. Claus and Soren were very funny playing policemen.

"Aqua Diary" comments :

 I've seen the Aqua Diary and there are some parts in the home video that are hilarious.  For example: Rene's breakdancing in Korea in '97 really made me laugh. It really inspired me to be the life of the party.  I'd sure like to thank him for those outstanding breakdance moves. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

It was also funny when Soren did the monkey trick on Taiwanese television in '97 where he acts like a monkey peeling a banana and eating it.  Every time I watch that part I'd just crack up.  It also inspired to be the funniest girl ever.  KEEP IT UP!

There are also some parts that are touching.  For example:  In the video for "Doctor Jones"  I liked when Rene kissed Lene after she put some flowers around his neck.  I also liked when Lene and Rene think about each other when they try to find one another. I also liked when Rene kissed Lene during a performance of "Roses Are Red" at a concert in Kalundborg in the summer of '97.  It was so cute of Rene to do that. He is so sweet!
