NEWS about the lawsuit :

Aqua fans would know about the lawsuit. Mattel®, the owner of BARBIE™ filed one against MCA Records, claiming that the song "Barbie Girl" is a violation of the company's trademark.

As the story goes, the record company won the first time : the judge originally ruled "Barbie Girl" as just a parody. However, Mattel pursued the lawsuit against Aqua's record company to see if they can come up with more evidence.

Aqua has ultimately won, and Mattel won't be able to look for more evidence. Since Aqua won, MCA will release a home video in the US, probably in June. The lawsuit had caused a delay in the release of the video since it includes the "Barbie Girl" video. <Erica>

NEWS from an Aqua fan !!!

I found the Barbie Girl single!!! I was in the mall and saw it. I thought it was "Turn Back Time" since it was an unfamiliar cover. When I took it of the Shelf, I saw Barbie Girl written across the bottom.

It's different than it was before. On the cover, they do not look like they stepped out of the music video, and they are sitting on the bottom of the ocean. An orange fish with "Aqua eyes" (from the Aqua Q) was next to them. The picture was more recent because Lene's hair was already short, not long like a long time ago. Inside the front cover is all the credits and stuff, but the disclaimer that the song has nothing to do with Mattel was not there or anywhwere else on it. There is no back cover, only two sides to the front cover. The CD is not pink. It is blue and looks like the ocean floor.

The CD includes the original version, the extended version, the "Perky Park Club Mix" and the ever famous "Spike's Anatomically Correct Dub".

A message to all Aquafans who don't have the Sold out "Barbie Girl" single: Keep searching!! There may still be a few left. I was lucky enough to find one:)
