It's often hard to work up a lot of sympathy for rock stars and other famous people who complain about the travails of life in the limelite. For Better Than Ezra, however, it seems that runaway success has created at least one bona fide problem: the demands of recording, touring and attending movie premiers have left the band little time to play in front of local audiences. Lately, however, the boys in the band have seen fit to try to rememdy that oversight, making an effort to stoke the home fires in their two-night stand Thursday and Friday at Tiptina's Uptown. After catching some beads, fans of this homegrown three-piece can party the night away to the strains of such hits as "Desperately Wanting," "Normal Town" and the recent single, "At the Stars." Noisy guitar-pop trio Stretch Princess opens both nights, and local funk-hop conglomerate Iris May Tango performs in between the two on Thursday's bill. Tickets $20. Showtime 10pm.
