Film clip:
Girl talking: In the beginning, I already heard people saying how cool he is, but after seeing his reaction, I was not sure whether or not he is approachable. There was a time when we had to shoot for consecutively 2 days. During this time, I was hesitant to go near him to take some pictures and talk to him. At that time, I was a little scared of him.
Man wearing red shirt talking: What we talk about most often with him is asking him to take it easy. The reason being, I feel he is too mindful of everything.
A movie scene flashes where Jerry is so frustrated that bangs his hand on a glass table in anger saying “Why is it me?  Why, why is it me?”
Man in glasses talking:  He is a person who is so very strict with himself. You know that when he acts, he really does it with a lot of effort. If he had to act out this scene of hitting against glass, I was so afraid he would really bang his head against it. Everyday, he would be at the dance rehearsal room practicing for more than 10 hours. He is really dedicated to his profession, but this kind of dedication can go a bit too far because he would forget to consider that others have to get off work, and would like to go home already.
Girl talking:   The shooting of Meteor Garden was already finished.  He was really concerned about his performance on screen. Later, in “Come to My Place” his role was that of a proficient piano player.  He could not play the piano at all, and in order to portray that role, he would go to a friend’s house and ask his friend to teach him.
Man in red shirt talking:  He is the type who is so deadset and doesn’t need anyone to wake him up. He gets up by himself. After shooting for a whole day, when it’s all over, he would go home bringing with him the day’s cut film strips to view again and see which ones were good and which ones were not. Afterwards, he would call the next day’s camera man, hair stylist and make up artist to his room for a meeting. Because of this, everyone is actually afraid to receive a call from him because there is no way to evade it. When he cries, from what I understand of him, it is because he blames himself , particularly for those things that he cannot do well.

Back to studio:
H: You are really very annoying!! An artist like you, so hard to handle!
J: ( embarrassed) Right… right.
H: Actually, you expect a lot from yourself. What is it?  Are you afraid that you might not be able to have these things or what?
J: It’s not the fear of my not having. Let’s just say it is because now, at this time, to possess these things, I have to exert more effort to treasure what I want to have. At this time, people are giving us the opportunity to prove ourselves.  That is why I would want to do it well. In the future, to be very honest, there will come a time when no one will mind you anymore and no one will even give you a chance no matter how much I want to prove myself to others. That’s why I feel that at this time, I should grasp this opportunity.
H: Do you feel that your road to fame did not have to go through long hardships and anticipations? In your case, it was instant fame and because of this, sometimes you still didn’t know where to turn to. You could only force yourself to care about everything, to watch out for every single detail. This, for you, was the way to do it.
J: You can say that… right. In the beginning, I was not that serious in getting into this profession, but later on, it was because some opportunities came my way and then… I’m here now. Later on… right… I felt (take out the word then) that there were many fields (take out the word that) I needed to learn more about. It makes me feel unfulfilled… because I will feel for example that I lack some things.  Sometimes, for example in acting or when I meet my elders or my peers, you will feel that many people actually are very confident about themselves. And then they have a set of their own things…
H: Do you know why they are confident? They go easy on themselves.
J: It’s possible.
H: Like the other day, while we were eating, you told me you felt “many people are just waiting to see how we, F4, would fall.” Let’s just say that you tend to look at the pessimistic side of everything. As for me, I would say everyone would like to see this Taiwan idol, or this Taiwan group, a person like you, and how long you can go on.  In both instances, you are talking of the same thing. But look at you, all you can think about is “everyone wants to see how I will fall.”
J: Right. ( embarrassed)
H: Of course, ( take out I know focus) taking one’s work seriously is very important; but I ( take out still) feel making psychological adjustments to one’s chosen profession, is more important than learning how to dance, or learning how to play the piano.  So, in the beginning, there are bound to be many things one still cannot adjust to,  specially when one is misunderstood, right?
J: Too stupid, too stupid. Right. Not knowing how to deal with people. (take out Not knowing how to be a better person.) And in many things, not knowing how to… how to…
H: Make slick talk in difficult situations.
J: Right… slick talk… right.
H: Right now, I still don’t know whether trying to make slick talk is good or not. I am also…
( I’m not sure if slick talk or smooth talk is the right word – would appreciate any input you might have on this, contextually, might be slick because even the host doubts if it is good or not)
J: Actually, I am really afraid, I dread the day when…(changes topic)  many of my friends have written me and they also wish to say that right now, I am being misunderstood by outsiders to be too proud or what; but what I really like to say is when I have an opinion about you or whatever, I say it out. I will not try to be a good person or what …
H: Or say it behind one’s back
J: Right.
H: So, now looking at the news reports does it make you feel better?
J: Right now, it will. Actually, I’ve gotten used to it already. At first, I felt that the media must have hostile feelings against me, it’s like, why were these things written to mislead and the facts of the truth were twisted, making me feel…you know, you will…
H: Moreover, your personality…
J: You will feel angry and ask why is it we are all …
H: Your personality fears being misunderstood. You are also afraid of losing, afraid of defeat, right?
J: In this profession, I really fear being misunderstood. It has to be said like this. I should say, in this profession, I really fear being misunderstood by others. Because if there’s nothing, there’s nothing, I really dislike it when people commit slander against me…
H: What are you most angry at? Being misunderstood?
J: What I dislike most is being written about in a certain magazine of being impolite to so-and-so actor or treating xxx actor ..
H: Why don’t you just say it out? There’s no need to be too courteous. You came here to talk
