Autumn asks me to go and get Fred for her and I am shocked.... Fred?? As in Durst?? I ask. What happened to Howie? She just laughs and says she wants to taste danger.
So, I laugh and say "Ok, I'll do my best."
I get a cab and head for the airport. (I know the Poplar Grove airport doesn't have passenger service but HEY it's a story! Get over it.) I run to the ticket person and say I want a ticket to LA. She blows a bubble and looks at me stupidly. I take a pen and pop the bubble and tell her LA as in CALIFORNIA, idiot. She looks offended. I didn't think she was intelligent enough to realize it was an insult.
I get my ticket and run to the plane and get in and go to my seat...wow cool: window seat. I relax and we take off. I am sitting in my seat wondering how in the world I am going to convince Fred Durst to come with me to KY to see my friend. Good thing I have a long time to think about it.
I get to LAX and I get a taxi and head to Fred's house (I know I don't know where he lives but remember...it's a STORY!!!! Geez! How many times do I have to remind you of that!!??)
I finally get to his house and I bang on the door (well after I scale a wall because he is paranoid and has a wall around his house to protect him from fans...but that is another story...) Some chick answers the door and looks at me strangely (I hate it when they do that), and I smile.
"Yea I need to talk to Fred please" I tell her.
She laughs and says "Yea right like I will let you".
I said "yea you will" and I give her some money and tell her that there is a sale at Kmart and if she hurries she can still get the blue light special. She squeals with delight and takes off. I watch her, shaking my head..."oh yea that's a typical Cali blonde" and go in search of Fred.
I hear lots of music and finally find him. He looks up at me in shock...
"What..Who..How.."
I laugh at him. "Come on Fred spit it out" I tell him.
He smiles and then says "How did you get in here and who are you?"
I laugh and tell him, "The frequent flier miles are wonderful, you know." He looks at me like HUH?? and I just shake my head. "Never mind" I tell him. "Look, a friend needs you in KY. She's a fan and needs to see you."
He starts to laugh and tells me "yea right! Like I'm gonna go with you to Kentucky"
I tell him, "Yea you are."
He asks me why would he do that and I tell him because he is a great guy and my friend in Kentucky loves him and wants some bad in her life. He gets a smile and says,
"Alright...let's go! What's taking you so long?"
We take off towards LAX and get on the plane.
We get to Kentucky and rent a car and head to Autumn's house. (Please I just know you are not going to ask me, right?? You are gonna realize it's a story...right??? Please tell me yes..)
I knock on the door and her dad answers and I smile..
"Oh no. Not you again!" he says to me.
I just smile sweetly (yes I can do that...when I want something or have something to hide) and I walk in and ask him for a drink. We walk to the kitchen and I motion for Fred to come in and I point up stairs. He gets the meaning and I hear him run up the stairs
"What's that?" Autumn's dad asks.
"I don't know, probably the neighbors," I tell him.
"Yea you're probably right."
*Meanwhile up stairs*
Fred knocks on Autumn's door and she puts down the lighter that she just burnt herself with and goes to answer. She sees Fred there and just stares, not wanting to believe I went and got him for her.
"Hi," Fred says smiling.
Autumn really doesn't know what to say, so she tells him
"I burnt my finger on a lighter."
Fred smiles and says "Here let me see." She shows him it "OHH poor girl, I"ll take care of that for you" and he walks in the room and closes the door...
