I smile and look into your eyes as you say the words that I've been waiting to hear you say:
"I do"
I'm amazed by the way that you look. The way the light hits your eyes and makes them shine like two precious gems sitting in the sun light. The way your face is lit up by the smile that is gracing it. The way your voice shakes because of the excitement you are feeling that this day has finally arrived.
It seems as if it took forever for us to get here, our wedding day. The struggles we went through along the way. The fights we had that threatened to never let this day happen.
As I look deeply into your eyes and say the only words that I can, I smile and my heart soars because I realize that even though I have professed my love for you in poems, song and letters, no words but these can express my true feelings better.
"I do"
The pastor pronounces us man and wife and the church explodes into applause and I look over at you and I can see the happiness radiating from you.
I smile and take your hand as we make our first walk as husband and wife. I know as we walk out of the church doors and into the waiting limo, that our journey has just begun, but because of the love we have and all that we have already endured we can make our way through anything as long as we always hold on to the love that brought us here.....our wedding day.
