Once upon a time there was this prince named Howard and he was alone and looking for a princess.
One day he was wondering through the woods when he came up on a young woman sitting alone on a log by a little stream well she struck him as being very sad and he felt the need to go and talk to her.
So he walked up to her and touched her shoulder excuse me ms.. Is everything ok? She looks up at him and she has tears in her eyes and he immediately falls to one knee and takes both of her hands into his Tell me miss...what is troubling you he asks as he wipes her tears away. Well, she says, my father wants me to marry this horrible boy named Justin and I just don't love him. He's such a ugly horrible person. Prince Howard immediately feels for this young woman and tries to think of the words to make her feel better but he is distressed because he can't think of any.
While they sit there by the stream Prince Howard takes a long look at this sad lady. She has beautiful flowing blonde hair and green eyes that when they catch the light of the sun you can see specks of brown and a little yellow in them. Prince Howard finds himself strangely attracted and drawn to her. He finds himself thinking that he wants to keep her from marrying this horrible person named Justin and to be with him, but how can he feel this way already, he just met the fair maiden. He hears her sigh and looks at her and she is staring off over the stream and looking at the land beyond. He knows she is dreaming of being anywhere but where she is now and he feels her pain because he finds himself feeling the same way. He wants her anywhere but in a wedding gown getting married to anyone but him.
He takes his hand and makes a bold move and takes her chin and has her face him. Miss. I know this is very forward and may be way out of line but I was wondering if you would like to take a walk with me. He asks her this and holds his breath while awaiting her answer. Prince Howard doesn't know what has come over him, he has never been this attracted to a woman before and he doesn't know quite what to do about the feelings he feels stirring inside. She smiles at him and says yes, but first she says, I must know your name for it is not right to walk with a man that I do not know. Prince Howard smiles and tells her that he is Prince Howard and he can see the shock in her eyes when he says this. Prince Howard from the castle Gwydion? she asks. Yes miss that is my castle. All of a sudden she bends down in a bow to him and he takes her arm. No please do not bow to me. I am asking you to take a walk with me as a man and a lady not a prince and a constituent. He sees her thinking this over and he smiles with relief when he sees the smile come over her face and she shakes her head yes.
Ok, but first Miss..I must know, what is your name? She looks up into his face and she can see the kindness and she tells him, my name is Autumn. Prince Howard smiles when he hears this because the name fits her perfectly because of the way her eyes have specks of brown and yellow in them when the light hits them just right, just like the leaves when they are changing.
They walk along the stream and she tells him of how she is to be married tomorrow to that Justin person that she just doesn't love or want to spend the rest of her life with during this walk they found themselves falling in love. Prince Howard wanted to find a lady to be his Princess but never imagined it would happen like this.
At the end of the walk they were holding hands and laughing. Prince Howard was thrilled to see the lovely maiden happy and it brought great joy to his heart. They came back to where she was sitting before and she got silent. He knew what was wrong and knew what he had to do. Miss Autumn would you do me the great honor of becoming my wife? I know your father wants you to marry this Justin person but I know I can make you happy and with you by my side I would be the happiest man alive.
He sees confusion come over her face and quickly says, I know we just met but I have fallen in love with you over the short time spent with you and I know I can make you happy She takes his hands in hers and she smiles at him. Yes Prince Howard I would be honored to become your wife and make you happy, for making you happy is what would make me the happiest woman in the land. Prince Howard smiles and gently kisses her and they walk off to tell her father. Of course her father is thrilled and kicks Justin out of the house never to return. They have the wedding at the castle and they make a striking couple. After the vows Prince Howard and Princess Autumn ride off into the sunset on one horse to acknowledge the fact that they are indeed one forever.
