                                            Professional Camera Operator

So many people ask me about my film entertainment career.  So, here's the backstory about how I began my career as a professional camera operator:

I served as an E-4 non-commissioned officer in the United States Air Force with my career AFSC 23152-still photographic/camera/lab tech/photojournalist/aerial reconnaissance specialist.  I received my vocational certificate for still photography and upper-level management from the USAF.  In addition, I received many photo awards, military medals of honor from the USAF for my military still photography career.  My still photographs were published from small newspapers and magazines across the United States to major publications such as
Time Magazine to USAF Airman Magazine globally.  Since my career in the USAF, I received my A.A. degree in photojournalism from Clinton/Jamestown Community College in the state of New York.

Several years later, I received my B.A. in cinematography and film production with my minor in industrial arts with an emphasis in computer multi-media, still photography, and reprographics from San Francisco State University.  I worked as a professional still photographer working for international music clients from 1980 until 1998.  I worked as a camera operator for several television stations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area from 1994 to present.

I joined IATSE Local 600 in March 2000.  I discovered that as a camera operator I wanted to work not only on land and shoot aerials, but also underwater.  By increasing my skills as a camera operator and as an experienced scuba diver, I am able to accept underwater work in the entertainment sector as an underwater photographer.  Soon I will be working as a TDI commercial underwater videographer for film productions around the planet.  Since 1994, I am hired to shoot music videos, commercials, television programs throughout United States.  Please contact me should you need a professional camera operator for your next video or film project.

Meanwhile . . .  I am also working as a Screen Actors Guild actor learning the entire film production operation from behind the scenes.  Soon, I will have my film production company successfully operating and serving clients globally.  So, working as a SAG actor has its advantages!  Working as a SAG actor allows me to obtain the
best education learning how to run a successful film production company on a day to day basis.  Very cool!

Cameras and Equipment

Currently, I own a Panasonic AG-DVX 100A mini-DV digital video camera.  Plus, I also own a Cinema Products CP-16R camera package.  Since this day and age, the film community is veering towards digital cinema, so I think I would like to sell my CP 16-R film package.

FYI:  If interested in purchasing my CP-16 R,  please contact me by

Scuba Diving

Prior to my PADI AOW still photography specialty certification photos taken in Makena, Maui in September 2004, I certified as a TDI NITROX diver with Pacific Dive in Lahaina, Maui in August 2003; PADI AOW scuba diver in Benalmadena Costa, Spain in 2000; PADI AOW navigation diver in Moorea, French Polynesia in 1999; SSI openwater scuba diver at Monterey Bay, Monterey, CA in 1998/1999.  Since 2004, I have been actively diving as a PADI underwater videography specialty working in conjunction with my union, IATSE Local 600 as a commercially licensed underwater videographer/camera operator.  In 2005, I  began certifying towards obtaining TDI TRI-MIX certification.

In November 2008, I completed my National Geographic certification in Pattaya, Thailand.  Hopefully, I will complete my underwater TDI TRI-MIX by Fall 2009.  After certifying for TDI TRI-MIX, I will be shooting an underwater digital video documentary of a new volcano in formation located off the coast of Fiji.
