Of Angels and Demons
Her face looked so innocent and pretty,
I crawled into her silky flowing arms,
My head was cradled in her in her breast.
I felt like nothing in the world could be wrong.
My sweet beautiful angel would protect me from everything sent to harm me.
The soft beat of her heart made me drowsy.
I could smell the honesty in her hair,
And feel it on her skin.
I could be standing in the depths of hell,
But as long as I was with my angel, I would be peaceful.
Her white elegant gown caressed my skin.
She placed her lips to my forehead and sent me spiraling into a void I would never return from.
Her good-natured smile turned into an emotion I’d never seen before,
Rage overthrew all the pleasant emotions we shared together.
Soon a wrath of envy and hatred consumed the both of us.
My lovely angel wasn’t lovely at all,
She was a horrid bitch sent to slay me.
All the love and kinship that we shared was just a masquerade.
Betrayal and sorrow are the only feelings expelled toward each other now.
My angel,
My angel of demise was never in love with me,
It was all a game.
All ecstasy is counterfeit,
All joy isn’t true.
It’s always been and will always be,
Just a game.
