Jealousy
The moon shattered into a million glossy pieces,
each reflecting silvery bursts of light.
All falling down from the heavens
  to blanket the sleeping earth.

and when we awoke,
the stars too had fallen from there charcoal beds...
surrounding our feet with hematite kisses...

The sun arose with such passion and a satisfied smirk on her face,
golden rays bouncing off the broken sky.

By mid-day, the slivers are stuck in car tires and the souls of shoes, to be picked out and forgotten.

A few people might look up at night and wonder what's changed...
they won't be able to put their fingers on it, so it'll be shrugged off.

the sun, on the other hand, will always remember...

...for she was the one who pulled the trigger...
