Time Drags On
Broken face on shattered glass,
The illuminating, enlightening glow of the television,
Backdrop to my life.
Happy, fake smiles,
Who can be smiling all the time?!
Loud music in the back,
The telephone rings,
Another bloody hangup.
It's getting late again,
Time to go back to my own bed.
Waiting for nothing,
Getting nothing for waiting.
Scrub my face with my bar of filth,
Impure hands with unfit fingers.
Lock away the fear and pain,
Sh!t pouring from your mouth again.
Telling me secrets of events never taken place,
Squandering my Time analyzing clay faces.
Making bowls of mesh,
Nets of wood.
No assistance on your part,
Always fidgeting.
Falling asleep at crucial moments.
Another boring Tuesday,
Regretting the past.
Monday is loathsome,
Everyone hates Mondays.
Time has gone,
Dragging Her feet of course,
Taking a break for a pit stop.
