This site is about the tradition I have practiced for the past seven years, The Irish Faery-Faith. There are many pagan and wiccan traditions which term themselves Faery, Faerie, Feri, Fairy and other variants. All traditions and paths are only as valid as the individual praciticioners heart feels them to be. No one way is the ONLY way to the truth. One must hearken to that inner light that shines upon the pathway that is correct for the individual. As such, my aim with this site is to educate anyone who is curious as to the beauty and truth of The Irish Faery-Faith. This is the path that my hearts light shone brightly toward so it is the path I have studied and call my home. The Irish Faery-Faith is based on the old folk ways of pagan Ireland. Some of it's practices as with many earth centered spiritualities may be deemed as 'superstition' by those who do not follow similiar pathways. Our pantheon, consists of the Gods and Goddesses of old Ireland. The most noted of these are the Tuatha De Danaan, however there are records of Deities that were worshipped in Ireland PRIOR to the arrival of this race of beings. To this extent, the Tuatha De Danaan can at times be viewed as something other than deity, still powerful in their own right, yet outside of God or Goddess status. The ways of this tradition include the arts of seership, Divination, Healing, Storytelling and Journey Work to name a few. We work closely with the Sacred Trees and as such many of our practices incorporate the Ogham and their attributes. We practice in Groves and utilize an initiatory system of training. We are Bhairds, Priests and Priestesses, Elders and Ollamhs. We do not follow the 'wiccan rede' yet our own traditional credo, "The Truth against the World" serves as our guiding motto. As one becomes more and more immersed in the practices of this tradition the realization of how harsh the Faery themselves can be may become overwhelming. Many people find it difficult to continue their training to the level of Ollamh. The Faery are most deffinately not the gossamer winged creatures of childrens stories. They are a race of beings that demand respect and the utmost devotion to work with safely. |
