The Elements

Air
Air is the element of thought, of mental processes. It is the element of thinking and of dreaming. This is the element we work with to unravel the monsters of the mind; the images that plague our true sight with obstacles. It is the element of the clouds and of the wind. It is the element of scents. When one is attuned to this element our mind is set free of all barriers based in fear and falsity. We then begin to see in clarity and discern in pure truth. Air is manifested as the sylphs and the sparkling beings seen in the peripheral of ones vision.

Fire
Fire is the element of creation and of destruction. It is the force that when properly utilized clears away the old sickly and negative vibrations and prepares for the birth of the healing, positive energies. Fire can be seen in this realm in the form of lightning, the sun, lava, fireflies and other flickering beings. Fire is our passion and the driving force of desire. It is the forces that if ignited and properly directed can cause us to realize and excel beyond our potential. If we are careless with this element it can overwhelm us and cause ‘burnout’. Fire is also represented by the salamander, as well as the beings within the flickering of firelight be it flame of a candle or the greatness of a bonfire.

Water
Water is the fluid element. It is the element of releasing and rebirthing. Water is the essence of our own human emotion. It can flow softly like a gentle rainfall or it can crash down upon us like a great tidal wave. Water in this realm can be seen as rainfall, oceans, creeks, streams, tapwater, the dew droplets seen in the morning as well as the moisture felt in a humid climate. The beings of water are the Water Babies and Undines.

Earth
Earth is the stabilizing element. It is the sturdy grounding force. It is the element of the rocks and the trees. It is the element that is the culmination of all the elements. To be centered in this power is to be centered in the four elements of Air, Fire, Water and Earth. When one is balanced within these elements, one is primed for the fifth element of spirit. We see the element of earth manifested as the gnomes, elves and spirits of the trees, flowers, rocks and other earthly beings including our own physical bodies.
