The Elements and How They Work Together.

The Realm of Aer

Aer agus Tine

A Bhaird must carry the power of Fire when in the realm of Air. Fire is the will of the heart and soul and must be treated with the utmost respect. Fire and Air can ignite the pure will of ones desire and bring illumination to ones path. One must be cautious however for Air can strengthen Fire so much that the flame of their over-eagerness will consume them so completely that it will destroy them.

Aer agus Uisce

The next element to come to the aid of the Bhaird, while walking in the Realm of Air, is Water. Water brings the soft gentle tides of the heart to the harsh mental state of Air. Water brings the mists of intuition into being. When Air and Water are joined in balance ones psychic senses are heightened.

Aer agus Domhan

To triumph over the obstacles of ones mind, one must attune to the element of Air. To soothe the clattering of ones mental cacophony we call upon the assistance of Earth. For a mortal mind is likened to the sky, full with clouds. Do you see a sky full of joyous peaceful creatures such as angels or do you see frightful images based out of fear? While walking in the realm of Air a Bhaird must bring with them, the power of Earth. Earth grounds our energy so that it does not become too scattered or unruly. Earth brings form to Air and shows us what is truly there, instead of what our hopes or fears tell us to believe.

When the Bhaird learns to work with Aer in its complete and balanced state, the Dividing sword of Nuada is the Gift of Faery that is received. The Sword of Nuada is brought from the Sacred City, Gorias and points to the Truth with its straightness.

The Realm of Fire

Tine agus Uisce

When the Bhaird travels in the realm of Fire it is of great importance to wield the element of Water. Water gives boundaries to Fire by tempering the enthusiasm of ones will with the gently lilting rain of the Heart.

Tine agus Domhan

When in the Realm of Fire, the Bhaird must become acquainted with Earth. Earth gives Sanctuary to Fire. As the body houses the will, so does the Sphere of the Earth provide flesh to its molten fiery core.

Tine agus Aer

Air gives Fire movement and strength. When Air and Fire are harmoniously entwined the Fire of ones 'will' can mold the thoughts of ones mind into the form spirit wills for them. Such as the metallurgist forges the blade of the sword with Fire.

When Fire is worked with in a balanced way the Talisman from the Faery City Findias is earned. The Spear of Lugh, the Gae Bulga aids us in achieving the pure desire of the will of ones spirit.

The Realm of Water

Uisce agus Domhan

When the Bhaird has moved into the Realm of Water, the element of Earth may be used to provide a foundation. Water being the element of the heart and of pure emotion needs the stableness of Earth to function in a balanced way. With the help of Earth the Bhaird can see through all the scattered images to see what intuition is truly saying.

Uisce agus Aer

Air is the element that enables the Bhaird to decipher the codes and symbols brought forth from ones intuition. This is what enables the Bhaird to be able to understand the messages brought forth from journeywork, divination, and other magickal practices.

Uisce agus Tine

Fire enables the Bhaird to channel their intuition into a specific direction. The fire of ones will ignites desire in the heart of the Bhaird. This enables the Bhaird to continue on his or her intuitive path.

When Water is worked with in a balanced way the Undry Talisman from the Sacred City Murias is acquired. The Cauldron of Dagda ensures that we will not want for anything while on our spiritual journey.

The Realm of Earth

Domhan agus Aer

When connecting with Earth, Air is quite useful in that it allows the Bhaird to travel inward. In essence one may use their mind to travel about in spirit without being weighed down by the limitations of the physical body.

Domhan agus Tine

Fire is the element that can destroy the blocks that are imposed by the physical. Here again we see Fire igniting our will to achieve goals, this time the goals to which we are referring are in the physical world.

Domhan agus Uisce

The merging of heart and body is what is achieved when Water is worked with in the realm of Earth. When this alliance is achieved the Bhaird has brought his or her intuition into the physical or earthly plain. When this occurs the Bhaird may use his or her intuition to steer clear of unnecessary obstacles and thus proceed at a quickened pace on their journey.

At last the Bhaird has completed the journey through the four elements and has climbed atop the Lia Fal Talisman. This talisman is brought by the Faery from the Sacred City of Falias and signals that the Bhaird is indeed King or Queen of their Spirit Walk. According to the old laws of Ireland, a King must be whole in order to achieve and maintain the throne. Therefore being balanced between the elements brings wholeness to the Bhaird, thus crowning the Bhaird as King or Queen of their own destiny. When this wholeness is acquired the Bhaird is ready and armed with all that is needed to traverse the Fifth element of Spirit. While glimpses of Spirit can be seen through each of the elements individually, working harmoniously with all the elements allows for the complete Truth to shine through us. Living without wholeness is like trying to glean the truth from a book in which several pages are missing. Some knowledge may be gained of course, but the whole picture, the whole truth is lost without the missing pages.
