HMS Bellerophon is the lead ship of the Bellerophon class dreadnought, the newest class of dreadnought at the outset of the Peep/Mantie war. She was involved in one of the incidents just prior to the start of the war, and was responcible for the destruction of four Peep battlecruisers in the Talbot system. The battlecruisers were attempting to pick off the Manticoran cruiser HMS Athena which was on patrol in the area. Bellerophon was just getting ready to go into hyper and head to Manticore for refit when the four Peep battlecruisers came out of hyper and opened fire. Bellerophon took some light damage, but Lieutenant Commander Avshari, her communications officer who had the con at the time, was able to destroy all four Peep battlecruisers.
