Theme: It's that time of the year! Presents, bows, eggnog, and sap, all is welcome for the Fakephoenix Holidays Fanfiction Contest! Pick something that has to do with the month of December, be it Christmas, Chanukkah, Kwanza, New Year's, shopping sprees, or Ryos tied up with ribbon, and write to your heart's content!
Rules:
-Must involve Fake (crossovers are perfectly fine, though)
-The fic must take place during / focus on / otherwise relate to the holiday season
-There are no length requirements (short, long, whatever floats your boat), but the fic must be completed when turned in. Phoenix and her henchmen have a pet peeve about unfinished fics- mainly because they want to know what happens next and hate waiting. ^_~ (Oneshots are therefore recommended, but if you want multiple chapters who are we to complain?)
-Final copy due into Fakephoenix (webmaster@fakephoenix.com) by JANUARY 5.
Fics will be judged by a five-person panel of popcorn-munching midnight otaku on creativity, plot, and overall chocolatey goodness. The winners will recieve an award banner that they can proudly display and the top fics will be permanently added to the Fakephoenix archieves.
Please include with submission:
-Your name (penname is fine)
-Your contact email
-The title of the fic and a short description
-A guesstimation of the fic rating on a G to NC-17 scale
-Any special warnings (lemon, angst, sap, deathfic, rapefic, etc)

The following list of Challenges are for fanfiction writers who are experiencing writer's block or are searching for a new/unique topic. There is no competition and/or deadline involved- these are merely suggestions. Hopefully these will spur some wonderful fics!
-The Berkeley/Diana Challenge - Write a fanfic pairing together Berkeley Rose and Diana Spacey. All shapes and forms are fine- short, long, pwp, lime, fluff, etc- however they must be involved or inclined romantically. Double challenge: explain the attraction between the two uniquely. ^_~
-The Seduction Dare Challenge - Continue this story:
- (It was an average day at the twenty-seventh precinct. Birds were singing, coffee was brewing, pencils were scratching, and JJ was nuzzling his favorite man in blue.)
Dee: Ack! JJ! Get off my case and let go!
JJ: Nuh-uh! *clings tighter* It's a beautiful day and I wanna be with my beautiful prince.
Dee: Which is not me!
(/Oh God,/ Dee thought, /I'm going to suffocate if he doesn't let go soon... How do I keep him away? Tie him up? ....No, the Chief would have my ass for putting another officer out of duty. Straightjacket? He'd still be able to lick. How about a gag? Do we even have a gag?/ Dee sighed in frustration. If only he could sick Bikky on him... Then, suddenly, Dee got an idea, an awful idea. Dee got a wonderful, awful idea...)
Dee: Hey, JJ... I'll bet you can't be so ridiculously over-attentive to someone *else* all day. Hell, I'll bet you couldn't get anyone to look your way no matter how sappy you are, if you know what I mean.
JJ: Wha'? D'you mean... attract someone? *pouts* No, I can!
Dee: So you think you can seduce anyone in the office building?
JJ: *confident grin* As sure as the chief's combover!
Dee: So certain, aren't you. Okay, I'm wagering $20 that you can't seduce in a week's time whoever walks through that door next, be it male or female.
JJ: You're on!
**Person**: *walking through door* Hey, JJ, get your ass down to the record room. We've got work to do. *turns around and leaves*
Dee, JJ: *stare* *silence* .......
JJ: *breaking into impish grin* By the end of the week, huh...
Dee almost felt sorry for **Person**. Almost.

As for judge favorites (for the heck of it): Phoenix liked the drunken Ryo in "Shiatsu" (and points out to budding authors out there that there should be more drunken Ryo's in the lemon genre), Wolfsbane thought the concept of putting Ryo and Dee up for auction in "Can't Buy Me Love" was spectacular and she would cast her whole savings bond to win one of them, Sara solemnly thanks Ice wind for the Berkeley x Diana fic "Rose Thorns" because there aren't nearly enough fics featuring that pairing (and the het lemon was not only tasty but refreshing), Keko would like to congratulate Buffy on her unique spin on Arnon in Dee's past in "Candy Hearts" (she likes angst), and Waitress-At-Our-Table squealed outright several times during the reading of Meg Kisner's "An Unforgettable Holiday" (the trail of stemmed roses leading into the bedroom made her day).
