Petition Cover Letters
Below are the cover letters that were sent to CBS and Columbia Tri-Star with the petitions from this site and from the Motion Lounge site. There were two addresses for each, so a letter and petitions were sent to all four addresses.
Since a volume of letters from several individuals carries much more weight and influence than one letter (even with a petition full of signatures), please feel free to use all or parts of my letters and send your own to the addresses listed below. If you would like to include copies of the petitions with your letter(s) as I did, it will turn out to be approximately 20 to 30 pages and should cost under $2.00 in postage. I highlighted and copied the text of the petitions into a word processing (such as MS Word) document and played around with the formatting and spacing so it was all uniform, neat, and easy to read. In addition, I added page numbers and the URL (web address) of each petition in the header of the page.
We may never hear back from either CBS or Columbia/Tri-Star, but at least we can say we tried. If you have any questions about how to copy and print the petitions, e-mail me for help.

LETTER TO CBS
Mr. Leslie Moonves, President/CEO
CBS Television

Mr. Leslie Moonves, President/CEO
CBS Television City

Dear Mr. Moonves:
I am writing regarding the show Falcone, which was produced by Columbia Tri-Star and ran last spring on CBS. I know that you have already received several letters from fans of this show asking about whether or not it will ever air again, and the purpose of this letter is to share some comments about the show that have been collected on just two of the many Falcone fan websites. You will see that these comments from loyal viewers date from the show's first airing last spring right up through the end of 2000 and into the new year; and most remark on the strong characters, the captivating story lines, the superb writing, the talents of all the actors, and their disappointment that a show of this quality will not be given another chance to gain a substantial enough audience to keep it on the air.
We watched Falcone for the eight days that it was broadcast on CBS and loved it., and by the end of the show's run we were completely captivated. This is one of the best shows CBS or any network has had in years, and we urge you not to cancel it. We were encouraged when the network decided to re-broadcast the show as a regular series over the summer and were extremely disappointed when it was pulled from the line-up after only five of the nine episodes had aired in favor of running two episodes of Walker, Texas Ranger back to back.
You took a chance with a show called JAG, that you rescued when NBC cancelled it a few years ago and that show has averaged impressive ratings for CBS. And now NBC has enjoyed the same success with a show called Mysterious Ways, which had the chance to attract a loyal audience when it aired on PAX for the past several months. Please consider this when making your final decision concerning Falcone.
The community of Falcone fans who meet at the various web site message boards grows each week as more and more fans discover us through word of mouth or by finding us on search engines. You can't imagine how many very grainy second- and third-generation copies of the series have made their way back and forth across the country as fans copy their tapes and copy their copies to send to a new fan who posts a request on the board.
We loved the show, and we are positive that every new viewer it would gain from a rebroadcast would be just as hooked. Please do not give up on Falcone! Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Grossi:
I am writing regarding the show Falcone, which was produced by Columbia Tri-Star and ran last spring on CBS. I know that you have already received several letters from fans of this show asking about whether or not it will ever air again; and I know that you and Tri-Star have no control over whether or not the network will ever air the show again in its entirety or if it will consider bringing the show back as a regular series. The reason I am writing is to ask and encourage you to consider releasing Falcone on video or DVD. I have a website for fans of this show with a message board that has been very active with dozens of fans from the time the show first aired up to the present.
We were all very encouraged when CBS decided to re-run the series over the summer only to be extremely disappointed when they pulled it after only five episodes. Many, like myself, were so captivated by this show that when the re-runs came along decided to tape it to save for watching over and over.
And that doesn't even include all the copies that are regularly bought and sold on Ebay. I loved this show during its first run and decided to tape it during the re-run. When I was not able to tape the whole series, I started looking for it on Ebay. I lost out on several copies because bidding got too high. Then I found a friend on the web site who agreed to copy her tapes for me, so I was able to enjoy the entire series from beginning to end. I eventually was able to purchase a second copy on Ebay, which I have as a back up.
My web site is just one of many Falcone fansites and the two things we hear over and over again from the regular visitors to the message boards is: "Will the show come back to TV" and "Will the show ever be released on video."
Please consider releasing the show on video/DVD. I have enclosed a partial transcript of Save Falcone petitions from my fan site and from a similar site -- you will notice that these signatures date from last April when the show first aired up through present day (there are several hundred more signatures that I have not included). As you can see, there are hundreds of "signatures" from fans of the show who love the writing, acting, and story lines and want to see more. And these represent just a small percentage of those who love and miss the show. I hope that you will take the time to read the comments on the enclosed petition and decide to release Falcone on video.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
