BRIEF HISTORY

The Omega Chapter of the University of the Philippines in Los Baņos, Laguna is one of the biggest chapters of Gamma Epsilon in the Philippines, hence the first Gamma Epsilon National Pre-Convention was held in UPLB in 1980. The Omega chapter was established by Brods. Ike Mangloo and Carding Trinos on September 11, 1966. In 1970's, the population of Omega grows bigger thus it was divided into two chapters, The College of Agriculture and the College of Forestry Chapter, albeit still under the umbrella of Omega. In the late 1980's, membership and recruitment became a problem thus it merges again into one chapter. It remain in-active until 1991 when an Alumni batch 1960's came back to UPLB to take-up postgraduate studies. He contacted brods. and sis currently working in UPLB and nearby vicinities and revive Omega. The revival date was December 14, 1991, thus making the chapter active again.
