Chapter One

Somewhere in US, Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys just broke up with his girlfriend, Katie. They had both been under a lot of pressure ever since the press found out that Nick has a girlfriend. So they decided that they would be better off as friends. “I wish I can find someone who truly understands me.” Nick thought as he went back to his hotel room. But he didn’t know that he’s wish is going to come true, and soon...

It was a beautiful September afternoon, Angela just left school a little bit early un-noticed (ditching). She’s been wandering around for hours, she didn’t care about her future, her grades or even her life anymore, everything without Travis was just not the same, Travis, her ex, a player who dumped her for her very own best friend Mary. She knew that he’s a player all along, but she couldn’t stay away from him, he's a good-looking guy and a sweet talker.

"I should have listen to DeaAnne, now she’s gonna tell me ‘I told you so.’” Angela mimicked her older sister, DeaAnne, who’s 25 and in college. “I need to get over him!" She tucked her shoulder-length black hair behind her ear as she shouted out loud, "but how can anyone get over a guy that’s the guy of their dreams? Well, minus the lying part." She sighed and sobbed at the same time. "You're so pathetic." She said to herself, couldn’t to control the tears from falling from her eyes nor to recognize her own voice. "Everything would be all right, just go home and get a good sleep.” Angela told herself.

Just as she unsteadily crossed the street, a blue-green convertible was coming straight toward her direction. But she couldn’t see very well, all the tears were making her sight blurry, and she didn't want to see or hear anything except for Travis and his low, sweet voice, when he told her that he’ll never break her heart, but it's just one of his many lies. "Get out the way!" Someone yelled, loud enough to wake Angela from daze, but it was too late, the car was only 50 feet away from her!

"Oh My God!” an old lady screamed and covered her eyes with her purse, the car was going so fast, and it wasn’t going to slow down in the matter of seconds! So instead of stopping, the car turned its course, and went on the sidewalk. Even though she wasn’t hurt, all the hurt, her anger, and all her emotions inside her finally took its toll. The near-death experience had just triggered it; everything went black the last thing she remembered the sight of the rocky ground.

"Shit! What have I done?!" a male voice yelled, his friends got out of the car and tried their best to calm him down, “I didn’t hit her, but why did she faint, could she be dead of an heart attack?” the driver asked.

“No, I don’t think so, not that many people have heart attacks at this age. Nick, will you go and see if she’s okay?" a soft but deep voice asked. Nick nodded, got on his knees next to Angela, took her into his arms and started checking on her head. He gently removed a streak of hair from her pale face.

"It's an angel!" he gasped quietly, almost as if Angela had heard him, she opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was a pair of ice-blue eyes that's full of worries and surprises, for a second she thought it was Travis, but it wasn’t. The guy holding her was the most gorgeous guy she had ever seen in her entire life, he was about 6'3”, a pair of blue eyes that would make you drown in them, his silky blonde hair, and the sweetness of his relieved smile on his face.

“Am I dead?" Angela thought, if she wasn’t then how could an angel be right next to her.

“Wow! I have never seen a pair of eyes that pure black!” Nick thought while staring into her dark brown eyes. They appear to be darker, like the midnight sky. Angela saw something special in his eyes, something that she couldn’t describe. It felt like they had known each other long before this lifetime.

"Is she okay?" a muscular voice broke their gaze. She nodded, still to shaky to say anything.

"Are you sure? I'm so very, very sorry!" the driver voice asked, Angela looked up, it was a guy with dark blue sunglasses, baggy jeans and a white T-shirt with a blue fisherman hat that had some symbols on it. But that wasn’t what caught her attention, it was his tattoos, he had tattoos all over his arms.

“Are you sure?" he asked again sounding more scared this time, because Angela was completely silent of what she just realized, and all she heard was some mumbling voices.

"Are you the Backstreet Boys?" She finally asked.

"Oops, busted!" the guy who gave Angela a hand and helped her up said.

"Wait, you are Brian, you are Kevin, you are AJ, who almost ran me over.” Angela smiled, “and you are..." She hesitated, fearing that if she said it out loud, she’d wake from this dream that seemed so real.

"Nick! I'm the one who’s been next to you the whole time!" Nick finished.

"I'm so sorry!" AJ apologized again and made a puppy face this time.

"Well, I guess I can always brag to my friends that AJ McLean almost killed me! Where's Howie?" She grinned. AJ shot her a fake hurt look, while Kevin started to ask questions.

"He’s at the mall, you know, it's not actually his fault, you weren’t' suppose to be wandering in the middle of the street, wait, are you on drugs or something? How old are you? Shouldn’t you be in school?" Kevin asked.

"Stop being the ‘responsible’ one," Nick said jokingly, saved Angela from answering all the questions. She looked at Nick again, tried to read the expression on his face, but she couldn't concentrate when his beautiful blue eyes were looking back at her, meeting her gaze.

"Anyone for food?" AJ asked, lighten up the mood a little bit.

“You are always hungry, AJ.” Brian said laughing.

“Hey, that’s not funny.” AJ warned.

"I think I should go." Angela said, feeling that she doesn’t fit in the crowd in any ways. But Nick stopped her.

"No, we're taking you to the hospital, in case if you are hurt."

“I feel okay, I can walk, I’m not in pain!" Angela insisted, even though she felt her left shoulder is numb.

“Right... then how do you explain this?” Nick replied as he pushed on her bare shoulder - she was wearing a tanktop.

“Oww!” Angela exclaimed at the pain that shot through her body.

“You’ve got a bruise, and a nasty one. Come to the hospital with us! Please?” Nick pleaded. Sighing, Angela nodded and got in the car as they drove off.
