Staring at the wedding dress in the window, Angela sighs as her mind wanders off around. “I wonder how would it look on me, if only I can try it on, even just for one second. But what’s the point of trying it on when you don’t even have a boyfriend or even a close friend that’s a male?” She turns around, “But it would still be nice though...” she thought as she heads home.

As she turns, she saw this really big group of teenage girls gather in front of a hotel. “I wonder who’s in town this time” Angela walks by wondering. One of the girls pushed her off the sidewalk, which made her realize that she’s no match for the crazy fans, she starts walking on the road. “This is a classic!” she thought as it starts to rain. Angela ran for cover, she ran into a park and get under the slide. To her surprise, there’s already someone there.

“Hi!” Angela said shyly, she hasn’t been that close to a guy ever since 8th grade Christmas dance, her so-called date stood her up, which made her look like an idiot wait in front of the gym for 2 hours.

“Hi, there!” the guy said, waking her up from all the horrible memories of guys playing a prank on her. There’s water dripping down his silky blonde hair, and the dark blue T-shirt just makes his blue eyes more noticeable. “I’m Nick, it’s a pleasure to meet you under the slide!”

“Hi, I’m Angela.” she said, combing her shoulder length black hair with her fingers. “So, how long are you staying in town?” Angela asked try to avoid his eye contact.

“How do you know that I’m not from this town?” Nick asked curiously.

“Well, it’s not a big town, everybody probably know everybody, besides, aren’t you the guy who walks out the hotel on 2nd street, I thought you went that way.” Angela points to the opposite direction of the park.

“No, that’s not me, it’s a clone to get all the fans away, so I can exit without being caught” Nick said laughing. But at the same time, he’s surprised to find out that Angela can make him relax, to be himself not the person he has to be in concerts, interviews, or on TV. And she has a power to make him feel that he can trust her completely. Ever since the group he and his friends started called the ‘Backstreet Boys’ starts to get famous in the states, their defenses automatically goes up. It’s the first time that he feels that he can trust someone without a doubt.

“I think the rain stopped” Angela said, standing up, but ending up bumping her head. “Owwwww!” she cried out in pain.

“You okay?” Nick hurries to her side, but ends up bumping his head too. The both on them start to crack up about what just happened.

“How’s your head, are you all right?” Nick asked, still laughing.

“No, I think I have amnesia” Angela said, giving Nick a smart-ass look which made her dark brown eyes appear to be pure black.

“Well, then, how old are you? Where do you live? Do you have a boyfriend?” Nick asked, sliding in the last question for his benefit.

“I’m 18 years old, I live on Malapi Street, and I don’t think that I have a boyfriend, cause I still haven’t find the perfect one yet” Angela answered all the questions as fast as she could.

“Well, do you think I’m perfect?” Nick asked, taking her hands into his.

“What are you talking about?” Angela asked confused, but still letting him hold her hands.

“Do I qualify to be your boyfriend?” Nick asked jokingly, but the expression on his face showed that he meant every word he said.

“I dunno, I mean...” Angela was completely speechless.

“Can I at least try, just give me a chance” Nick continued on as they get out from under the slide.

“I guess so, but I don’t even know you” Angela said in a voice above whisper.

“That’s why we’re going on our very first date tomorrow night, I’ll meet you here at 7pm” Nick said while taking off a ring on his middle finger. “Take this ring, and think of me.” Then he left the park.

“Who does he think he is?!” Angela thought on her way home, but it’s hard to resist Nick’s charm. She called her best friend Sarah to ask her opinion, but she wasn’t home. “Great, just when I really need her, she’s never home” she thought bitterly as she fixed herself dinner. Her dad is on a business trip, and her mom divorced her dad when she was only 10 years old. She went to bed with Nick’s ring on her thumb.

Angela didn’t get up till noon, she took a shower then tried calling Sarah again, but her roommate told her that Sarah went to a Shakespeare convention, and she won’t be home till next weekend. “Thanks” she sighed as she hangs up the phone. She takes out her lucky penny and toss it in the air, “If it’s heads, I’ll go, if it’s tails, I won’t.” she caught it, it’s heads. “How ironic” Angela thought as she puts on a light purple tank top, and a pair of white bellbottom jeans. She left the house around 6:45. She got there 5 minutes early, and Nick’s already there with a rose in his hand.

“Hi!” Nick said, handing her the rose.

“Awww, where are we going?” she asked smelling the rose.

“I thought you’d never ask” Nick said, leading her to his car. “Do you like French food?” Nick asked, opening the door for her.

“I love it!” Angela replied as Nick starts the car.

After a romantic candle light dinner, Nick and her had a walk on the beach. “Did you know that the goddess of beauty and love was born in the sea, she arrived standing on a shell?” Nick said, staring at the ocean.

“Yeah, why?”

“I didn’t believe that there would ever be anyone as pretty as Venus, but I proved myself wrong, I’m standing next to the most beautiful, sweetest, loveliest girl on this planet” Nick said, smiling at her.

“Well, I’m flattered” Angela said.

Nick brought her home around 10:30. “Thank you for this wonderful evening” Angela said, getting out the car, but Nick grabbed her and kissed her softly on the cheek.

“What was that?” Angela asked, teasing Nick, Nick’s blushing.

“Will you go on a date with me next weekend?”

“I’d love to” Angela gave Nick a smile that almost made him melt.

“Can I call you later?”

“Yeah.” Angela jotted down her number on Nick’s hand.

“Bye” Nick said as he drove off.

Nick woke her up the next morning. “Yeah?” Angela picks out the phone sleepily.

“Rise and shine!” Nick yelled over the phone.

“Hey!” she said. She was fully awake now.

“I was wondering if we can make the date on next weekend a double date. My friend Alex but we call him AJ is coming back from a convention, and I was wondering if you can set him up with a friend of yours” Nick asked in a really cute, sweet, baby like voice.

“Yeah, I have a friend that’s coming back next weekend too, she’s 20 years old” Angela said laughing under her breath, wondering what Sarah’s gonna do when she finds out.

“Okey dokey!” Nick said, they talked for a while, but then Nick has to practice his dance moves. “See ya in five days!” Nick said happily as he hangs up the phone.

Finally, this week is over, Sarah’s at Angela’s room, talking about the double date. Angela’s wearing a short shirt that kinda shows her belly button and a pair of baggy khaki pants, Sarah’s wearing a gray tank top and a pair of black pants.

“How do I look?” Sarah asked, looking as nervous as hell.

“You look great!” Angela said, trying to calm Sarah down. The doorbell rings, which made Sarah even more nervous, the two girls rush to the door.

“Hi, this is my friend AJ, AJ this is Angela” Nick introduced them while giving Angela a hug.

“Alex?” Sarah exclaims.

“Sarah!” AJ yelled surprised.

“You two know each other?” Angela asked confused.

“We met at the Shakespeare convention, why didn’t you tell me that AJ is Alex?” Sarah complains playfully to Angela and Nick.

“How was I suppose to know?” Nick said, punching AJ lightly on the arm.

“Well, shall we go and enjoy this beautiful evening or we can stand here and argue?” AJ asked, holding Sarah’s hand, as the two couples left the house.

Three years passed and it was a beautiful day in early spring, Nick and Angela is sitting comfortably in the lover seats. “Nick, do you ever think about your future?”

“Yeah.”

“Well, is there music?” Angela asked again.

“Yep, that’s in it.”

“Is there art?”

“Yeah.” Nick answered, don’t know where she’s going with this.

“Am I in it?” Angela asked normally, not looking at Nick.

“Baby angel,” Nick turned her around to face him as he continued on, “You are IT!” Their gaze met, at this moment, they both know that if they die the next second, there will be no regrets.

“Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?” Nick asked taking a small black box.

“Yes, I do!” Angela said happily, almost crying. “I have to call my dad!” she said as she runs into the house, she dials the number, but her aunt picks up the phone. “Aunt Betty! What are you doing there?” Angela asked, she hasn’t heard from any of dad’s relatives in 5 years.

“Angel, I know that we’re not that close, but your dad.... he... he’s dying” she cried over the phone.

“No!” Angela said silently, can’t believe that’s true.

“Your dad is dying of cancer, he starts to smoke a pack a day after the divorce” Aunt Betty sobs as she continues on. "He would love to see your wedding before he.... Before he...”

“Tell daddy that he will see my wedding” Angela said as she hangs up the phone.

“What’s wrong?” Nick asked concerned, cause her face is as pale as a ghost.

“My dad.... He’s dying, Nick do you think we can have the wedding as soon as possible?”

“Yes, we can, honey, it’s all right, everything’s gonna be okay.” Nick holds her in his arms.

The wedding was in June, Nick’s best friend Brian is on his second honeymoon with his wife Marie, so AJ is Nick’s best man. His other band mates Kevin and Howie are both married, Kevin’s 6th year anniversary is coming, he and his wife Eva is happily married, and Howie has twins that’s only 3 years old. He and his wife Vicki are together for 4 years, and it will be 5 years in October.

Angela’s wedding dress is white; it has straps on her back, which is in the forms of ‘X’. It goes pass her ankles, so she has to wear 3 inch high heels, all her jewelry are pearls, except for her wedding ring which made of white gold and diamond. It has ‘I love you’ inside, it was Nick’s grandma’s, but it passes down to every bride of the family.

The wedding is on June 15, Angela sits nervously in the bride’s room with all the other bride’s maids, Sarah came over and pat her on the shoulder.

“You okay?” Sarah asked, she could practically see Angela shaking.

“Nick should be here an hour ago, do you think something happens to him?” Angela ask, she can’t hold her tears back anymore.

“I’m sure that he’s just stuck in traffic.” Sarah said, comforting her best friend with an excuse that she doesn’t even believe.

“Angela!” her Aunt Betty yelled, halfway across the whole church.

“What’s wrong?” Sarah asked, signaling her to lower her voice.

“Nick.... Nick had a accident on his way here, he’s in the central hospital right now!” Aunt Betty said as she pulls Angela into the car with her.

Angela sat in a chair in her wedding dress, it seems as if she’s stone, she hasn’t speak, eat, or drink in the last 3 hours. The operating light above the emergency room went off, the doctors step emergency room. “How’s Nick?” Angela asked.

“I’m sorry... We did our best.”

“No” Angela whispered, falling back on the chair. Couldn’t believe this is actually happening.

“It’s a dream, it’s just a dream, Nick, Nick you can’t leave me alone in this world, you ARE my world. You said that you’ll be with me for the rest of my life, you said that you’ll protect me, you promised me that there’ll only be happiness in my life, and now you’re gone?” Angela is in shock.

“What was his last words?” Sarah asked.

“He said ‘I Do’ before we begin the operation” the doctor said, loud enough for Angela to hear.

“I’m going home now.” Angela said calmly, wiping the tears off her face.

“Are you going to be okay?” Sarah asked, Angela is behaving awfully strange.

“Yeah, a long walk will calm me down.” she said as she left the hospital. “I, Angela, take thee Nick, to be my lawfully husband, be by his side through rich and poor...” Angela muttered to herself as she was about to across a street, she can see Nick standing in the middle of the street, waving at her, reaching out his hand.

“Through sickness and health...” Angela said as she walks towards the middle of the street. Few cars stopped, swearing at her, calling her a psycho. All the sudden, a truck comes out nowhere, Angela’s body goes up in the air in gasps and cries, she landed right on the sidewalk of the other side of the street. Her white wedding dress was slowly turning red, she has lost a lot of blood. Even though she knows that her life is going to be over in a matter of minutes, Angela try her best to speak, “...till death...do us...part...Nick, I do” she finishes her sentence as she closed her eyes.
