Chapter 7

That night I couldn’t sleep. I just thought about what I’ve just done… The phone rang and because Chrissie wasn’t home I have to pick it up and so I did.

"Hello?"

"Well, hi Faith. It’s been a while since I spoke you." It was a familiar voice, again that girl…

"Now what?"

"For the last time Faith, leave Nick alone!!!"

"Never mind girl, it’s over…" And that was the end of the conversation I had earlier this evening. I still don’t know why I’ve said that; I really didn’t mean it. I still love him, and I really don’t think about breaking up with him. If he has a good explanation for what happened…

But if you look at it from the other site, maybe she won’t call me anymore now. She thinks we broke up now, I guess. Maybe she does, maybe she doesn’t, we’ll see.

"Faith, are you still awake?" Chrissie looked at my bed and saw I was still up.

"Yeah, what’s the matter?"

"I wanted to talk you about what I’ve said a couple of days ago… You don’t talk to me as before, so I think maybe…did I hurt you or something? If I did, I’m really sorry. I just wanted you to realize what Nick is actually doing to you. Maybe I was wrong… Sorry for that then."

I couldn’t say anything, she just talked and talked and I couldn’t even tell her that I’m just thinking of everything she had said. "…you know. You actually were my best friend and I really hope you still are… I miss the ‘old Faith’ you know. I wanna go to the mall with you like we used to do."

"We will, I promise. As soon as I found out what’s happening… You’ve got time tomorrow?" It surprised her I said that, but I meant it. She was right, I had to go on with my life. With or without Nick. I prefer with but if it can’t, it just can’t.

"Sure Faith, I love to. What have changed your mind?"

"Nothing, I just thought about it. But that’s not all… I didn’t know I’m hurting my best friend, I had no idea. I wanna spend time with you again. Something wrong with that?"

We just smiled to each other and without saying a word, we also understood each other. We watched some TV and afterwards we felled asleep…
