Nick and Kevin parked the car outside the house.
"Okay, here goes nothing." Nick took a deep breath as he raised his hand to ring the doorbell. A loud crash followed by a scream cause him to stop.
"What the hell?" Kevin said as he jiggled the doorknob. The door opened easily.
"Angela?" Nick ran into her room when he saw the door was broken. Nick eyes widen as he found Mr. Dovane on top of Angela, pulling down her jeans while she screamed and begged for him to stop. Nick quickly pulled her father off of her.
"You bastard!" Nick yelled while punching him right on the nose, getting a nasty cracking sound from his face. Nick continued to kick him while Angela tried to cover herself back up, her shirt was ripped. Angela grabbed the blanket. She heard her dad groan and cry out in pain. Looking down, she saw that bruises were already forming and blood was running from his mouth.
"Nick! Nick! Stop!" Angela said but it seemed as if Nick had heard nothing.
"Kevin! Help!" Kevin ran in the room, he was looking in the kitchen to see if anyone else was there. Kevin circled his muscular arms around Nick and pulled him off Mr.Dovane.
The second he was standing, Nick embraced Angela in his arms as she broke down into tears.
"You okay?" Nick said, taking off his jacket and put it on her shaky shoulders. She pulled it on, feeling warmth of his body that's still on the jacket, more tears fell down her face.
"You okay?" Nick asked again and lifted Angela's face up by the chin, forcing her eyes to meet his.
"I...didn't know what to do!" Angela cried out as she pulled Nick closer. He held her tight but gentle as if he didn't want to injure her in anyway. He didn't care about his Armani shirt, which was soaked with tears, all he wanted was to savor the closeness of Angela and how right it felt to have her in his arms.
"Angela, honey. Pack your personal stuff, and let's get outta here as soon as possible." Nick released her after plant a soft kiss on her forehead. Kevin stood there in shock and amazement, he had never seen Nick so serious nor had he imagine that. He always thought Nick as a kid! The two men discussed quietly when Angela gathered her IDs, family pictures and some change clothes.
"What about her father? You can't just take her with us!" Kevin lowered his voice.
"I'll talk to him." Nick stood up, walked to Angela's father who was still lying on the floor. He said something, and the older man nodded. Nick came back.
"So?" Kevin asked eagerly.
"He agrees to let Angela come with us, he can't believe that he did what he just did either. He also confessed that he tried to do the same thing that night Angela ran away. And she'll be 18 in a few weeks." Nick reported. When Angela showed up in front of them with a bag in her hand, they left immediately.
