The phone rang at Nick’s house. “Hello?” Nick picked it up while changing into a Nike T-shirt.
“Sup? Bro?” AJ yelled at the other end.
“Not much.”
“Are you okay? You don’t sound so good.”
“Beside the fact that the only woman I ever loved used me for money and lied to my face, I guess I’m okay.” Nick replied sarcastically.
“O...kay, I’m guessing you’re talking about Angela?”
“Duh!” Nick sighed.
“What about Angela?” Nick heard Sarah asking in the background.
“It’s Nick, he just got in a fight with Angie, why am I telling you this? You were there!” Nick also heard AJ laughing at his own mistake.
“Look, stay put, I’ll be there in about 15 minutes.” AJ told Nick then hang up the phone.
“Great, why don’t I just call MTV and they can broadcast it to the whole world.” Nick mumbled to himself as he turned on the TV and sat down on the sofa.
Meanwhile, Angela was packing. She took out the clothes from her closet and folded it neatly then placed it in the opened suitcase on the bed. She packed only her things, ‘her’ things... Not anything Nick gave her, not anything Nick brought her, not anything that will remind her of him. Angela could hear her own heartbeat, fast and unwilling to give up the thought that Nick will come back and told her that he made a mistake.
Letting out an exhausted sigh, she closed the suitcase. “Why is all this happening to me? What did I ever do to you?!” Angela had an urge to shout that out loud, wanting God to give her an answer, wanting fate to give her answer and wanting her heart to give her an answer, but nothing except for the deadly silent.
Sighing again, she looked back at the apartment, memories flooded to her brain. Nick had kissed her on the sofa, they spent countless nights cuddling on the bed, watching movies, Nick holding her in his arms and whispered the things she wanted to hear in her ears. Then the image of Nick walking out that door, and walked out her life flashed before her. Angela closed and locked the door behind her. She remembered that she left the key on the kitchen table. Angela headed out into the bright sunshine, knowing that she’d never see Nick or anyone she had met in Orlando again...ever again.
