Chapter Three

After 5 days or so of non-stop driving, she was at Kevin’s apartment’s door. On her way to Orlando, she found a Teen People magazine in the book shop. And found out that Kevin was in the most successful pop group - Backstreet Boys. No wonder that name sounded so familiar.

She raised her hand to knock, but stopped, what if he doesn’t remember her. There she was in her torn bell-bottom jeans, an orange tanktop with a white windbreaker. And she wasn’t even related to him! “Hi, I’m the girl your mom use to baby-sit.” What kind of lame excuse is that?

“Are you lost?” A sweet yet strong male voice asked. She jumped and turned to the source of the voice, her face hit his chest.

“Sorry.” She looked up, his eyes were the color of the ocean after storm, and his blonde hair is combed back with gel.

“It’s okay, are you?” he asked again, curiosity burning in his eyes.

“Lost? No, I’m just trying to make up my mind.” Angela replied, began to squirm at his stare.

“Nick!” someone yelled, they turned and cameras flashed on their faces.

“What’s going on here?” Nick yelled madly as the reporters put down their cameras.

"Nick Carter found the new love of his life, and ready to break another heart.” a man in his mid-thirties muttered to himself.

“What did you say?” Nick grabbed that guy by his shirt.

“Nothing, I said nothing and I know nothing.” the reporter fought against Nick’s grip. Eventually, Nick let go. The man and the rest of the crew left the building.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to cause you any trouble.” She apologized quietly.

Nick didn’t reply, after a while, he sighed. “It’s okay, wanna come in?” He knocked on the door 3 times, then paused, and repeat it again. “It’s a secret code.” Nick told her, after seeing the confusion on her face.

The door opened at the fifth time Nick knocked. “Hey, c’mon in!” A guy said in a rich Kentucky accent, he had a pair of baby blue eyes that can make all problems go away, but in her case, it wasn’t working.

“Angela?” A tall, dark guy asked, eyeing Angela up and down.

“Kevin? You look so different!”

“I got a call from my mom, I was just worrying about you!” Kevin said as he takes her bags.

“Hi, I’m Krystina.” The woman at the corner reached out her hand, she’s about 20 or 21, she had shoulder length, honey colored hair with layers which went great with the shape of her face. She was wearing a green sweater which brought out her sparkling green eyes, she had a sweet smile on her face

“Hi, I’m Angela, I used to live next door to Kevin.” Angela shook her hand and returned the smile.

“Well, you can stay here tonight, oh, yeah, this are my friends, AJ, Howie, Brian, and of course Nick, you’ve met.” Kevin introduced them as Angela nodded and said hi to each guy. “The guest room is upstairs to the left, the bathroom is to the right. Why don’t you get some rest?” Kevin suggested and she was too tired to disagree with him. Angela picked up her bags and walked up the stairs slowly.
