"Sir! Sir! You'll have to slow down!" An old nurse yelled as Nick passed her in full speed. He almost fell flat on his face when he stopped abruptly as a stretcher strolled through the door. Angela was laying on it with a weak smile on her face.
"Angela?" Nick hurried to the side, pushing the people out the way. "Where were you?" He asked with a relieved smile on his face.
"She was taken to do some tests and treatments." The doctor next to the stretcher explained.
"Angel?" Nick ran his hand over her silky hair that's spread over the pillow.
"Don't look at me." She turned her head sideways.
"Why?"
"I look like a monster." She choked out.
"So?" Nick laughed out. "Didn't you hear what I said last night?"
"I did. But do you mean it? I kept on thinking it was guilt talking." She whispered.
"Every single word." Nick felt his eyes welled up again, he almost lost her forever. He thanked God for returning his angel back to him.
"Good." Angela finally faced Nick and grinned as she held Nick's hand in hers.
"I love you no matter what." He pecked her on her bandage.
"Excuse me. But I have to get her back to her room." one of the male workers said.
"Sorry." Nick got out the way and walked along with them back to the room.
They didn't know what future has in store them or the challenges they'll have to go through. But they both know one thing for sure, no matter what happens, no matter how bad or how complicated the situation might be. They'd always be together, fighting the fears, sharing laughter, and conquering life's problems, side by side...
