Kai was hearing everything that Louis was saying to Mark in the other room while she was packing her bag for classes. It was hard not to since Louis was yelling. Mark kept getting silenced everytime he tried to explain. That was it. “Will you shut the hell up for one minute?!” Louis turned around to see the furious young girl. As the saying goes, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. She was red in the face due to anger and her eyes darkened, they looked black. She walked over and started jabbing her fingers on Louis’s chest causing him to stumble backwards. She gritted her teeth as she said each word. “Don’t you dare yell at Mark. You are not his father. He is an adult not a damn baby. He can do what the hell he likes. I brought him here because I couldn’t risk leaving him on his own. Now get out before I do something I really regret. As Kai finished ranting, she opened her door, shoved Louis out, and slammed the door in his face as he turned to protest. Mark was silent the whole time, in awe of the fiery girl. Remind me to never get her angry he mentally thought. He blinked as Kai grinned at him, back to her perky self. Just how many sides did she have? She grabbed her bag and told Mark that she had classes to attend to but he was welcome to stay and make himself at home. She walked over to him and kissed his cheek goodbye and quickly walked out saying she would be back tonight while blushing like a tomato leaving Mark to smile shyly. Later Kai walked to her front door, limping – she had a black right eye, a cut on her left eyebrow, on her right cheek and on her lower lip. Her hands were swollen. She just got into a fight. On the way home, David a guy that was in her class tried to get a little more than friendly with her which she didn’t appreciate. She fought with him and beat the crap of him. She was a little p!ssed at her friends since they never turned up today. As Kai opened the door, she was stunned to see the place dimmed. She got nervous a little as she heard Mark coming through the room she was in after cooking. She gave a small wave. He was instantly by her side like a bullet. He bombarded her with questions as he helped her to the couch. After he got a wet, warm cloth with warm water in a bowl, she explained the gist of it. Dude got friendly with her, she told him to get lost, he didn’t like it and smacked her around. She fought back and won. “I’m gonna deck him if I see him.” Mark vowed as he gently placed the cloth on her left cheek where it was the worst. He apologised as he heard her wince in pain. A lone crystal tear fell from Kai’s eyes so he gently swept it away with his right thumb. Kai looked at him after he did that and felt herself falling in his eyes. The young couple looked at one another and leaned in to brush their lips against each other’s. Kai let out a soft sigh as Mark gently kissed her – careful not to hurt her. They didn’t do anything else as Mark concentrated on cleaning her wounds. It was that night Kaiyah had fell in love with him. As for Mark? He fell in love with her when she yelled at Louis. Kai fell asleep in Mark’s arms sometime after he cleaned her wounds, she was exhausted, with good reason too. Mark carefully picked her up, placed her in her bed, and climbed in behind her where she snuggled closer to him. In a way, they both needed to be close with one another. Mark remembered the cold dinner that laid on the kitchen table and forgot all about it soon as he fell asleep, holding Kai close to him.
