Chapter 5

Emma

“Get out.”

Emma ordered Mark as she pulled up outside his place, which was too easy since anyone could do it. She mentally checked that into her mind as she switched the car engine off and yanked the keys out of the ignition. He couldn’t move, so she leant over and smacked his head. He swore at her making her smirk. So he did hear her. Maybe he wasn’t dumb after all.

“Why don’t YOU go to hell?”

Mark snapped at his bodyguard as he rubbed the back of his head. She wasn’t meant to be hitting him although he thought of where she could. He raised his right eyebrow after she replied that she already went to hell too many times, before climbing out of the car. However, Mark let out a chuckle after she realised he wasn’t moving although he took off his seatbelt.

She was getting annoyed at this fool. Walking over to the passenger side, she then yanked open the car door and dragged Mark out. She told him to get his butt inside. It didn’t go past her notice that he was smiling. Just you wait, I’ll wipe that look on your face in a minute. Soon as they stepped foot inside, Emma checked her pockets and got out a piece of paper and a pen. Mark had to show her around his place, she was writing notes and frowning occasionally.

(Jaysus. Looks like I need more stuff than I originally thought. Hell.)

Emma shook her head in dismay after reading the notes she had written during the tour. In total, she had to get six window locks, four door locks, a security system and around four security cameras. She didn’t even have this, much which meant she had to contact Eddie, the security guy who had all this stuff whenever she and Sazza needed them. Oh boy. The young girl asked Mark where his telephone was. He had said it was in the hallway and showed her. She nodded at him and picked up the telephone, dialling Eddie’s special number.

Even Eddie was surprised at how much this guy of Emma’s needed. He could imagine her face. He told her to get the stuff when she was ready. They both agreed that she would get them in a few hours, then hanged up. Eddie set off to get the stuff while Emma searched for Mark. She called his name and followed the sound of his voice which lead to his kitchen. He was eating a sandwich. Emma told him to be ready to leave in a few hours to get the stuff – she wouldn’t tell him what he needed because if she did, all hell would break loose.

Emma realised that it did seem drastic just for a stalker but she read the letters and knew that this chick would do anything to get to Mark. Well, she would do anything to protect him. It was her job to do so. Even though he was the only guy ever to test her patience.

It was hilarious when Emma took Mark to get the stuff that she needed to get from Eddie. They had been waiting at a gate and she asked Mark to back off a little. He asked her why, well she didn’t need to answer as a great big, vicious Doberman appeared suddenly, snarling and barking like mad. Ha, Mark almost wetted his pants! Emma laughed at his face and told the dog to back off now in a certain tone of voice, which caused the dog to whimper and back off immediately. To say that Mark was in awe was a understatement of the year. She let a corner of her mouth curl up into a smirk as she took off her dark sunglasses that she had on the whole day.

(So, she has brown eyes. Finally, I been wondering.)

Mark thought they were a beautiful shade of hazel but her eyes seemed empty and cold, which made him, wonder why. He didn’t complete his thought as a tall bald headed guy with all sorts of tattoos on his body appeared. He watched as Emma and the guy exchange greetings.

“Did Snake bother you?”

Emma smirked, indicating her right thumb over at Mark, causing the guy to understand her unspoken answer. He knew that Snake scared the crap out of Mark. He shook his head in amusement as he handed over the cardboard box that he was carrying when he arrived. It was the stuff that Emma wanted – and more, which she didn’t appreciate.

“What the hell is this?!”

Mark’s eyes widened as Emma took out a silver gun from the box. Just what kind of place was this?! He watched as Emma held the gun in her hand, she seemed to know how to handle the gun, which caused him to swallow. Eddie shrugged and Emma threw the gun at him and he caught it with ease. It wasn’t loaded and they both knew it. Emma grabbed Mark’s left arm and pushed him towards the car but not before making him carry the box, much to his annoyance.

It was later that night; Emma revealed what kind of security she was going to place on his home. She had been right for all hell broke loose
