Chapter 1

It was their worst nightmare. They just received a call from the local hospital that their youngest son was involved in a car accident. They were frantic and rushed over to the hospital where the reporters had stood outside. The parents couldn’t talk to the reporters so they kept their heads bowed down as they went inside the hospital where they were met with their son’s friends. They were also anxious to hear news but the doctors wouldn’t give out information. The mother was asked if “she” was told, the mother cried out in horror. She had forgotten! With that realisation, she burst out crying in her husband’s arms obviously shaken by the news of her son. The shock had just settled in. Her husband asked a nurse to call their youngest daughter who was at her friend’s place.

One of the guys stood up and said that he would call her instead. It would be better if the news was broken by him. The parents agreed so he set off to find the nearest telephone. He took a deep breath and dialled her mobile number. He could only pray that she answered her phone and not seen the TV That had to be the worst thing to happen to you.

Finding out that your brother was in hospital due to a car accident, He heard her answering the phone but he didn’t say anything for a minute. How was he going to break this to her? He managed to tell her what happened due to the impatient tone he heard in her voice. She was shocked but told him that she was on her way over and hanged up. She could only hope that her brother was OK for she hadn’t seen him for almost three years. Making excuses to her friend, she ran out towards her BMW and made her way towards the hospital after starting the car. She prayed.

Her brother had been driving alongside the countryside road on the way over to see his family after three years. He regretted having a busy schedule being in Westlife so much he didn’t have time to visit his family. They had just finished their fourth world tour. He suddenly saw a car headed towards him at a alarming speed so he tried to swerve to miss him. But his attempt failed for the other car smashed into him.

After putting the phone back on the receiver, the young man had told the other siblings and weaved his hand through his hair, brushing it away from his face. He looked into the window of his friend’s room where he laid unconscious on the bed while his parents stayed by his side. Kian stuck his hands in his pockets and sighed leaning his forehead onto the glass as a lone crystal tear slid down his cheek.

“Hold on Shay. She’s coming.”
