Soon as the sunlight beamed inside a small room through a window, it’s occupant jumped out of bed in her blue pyjamas, which had small yellow chicks on. She yawned at first and stretched. Making her way to the door, she tried to reach up to the door handle – she couldn’t because she was short. A pout appeared on her face. This wasn’t good. She was hungry! A full trashcan was standing in the corner of her room when suddenly the rubbish was tipped out and placed near the door upside down. It was hard but she managed to stand onto it and pushed down the handle. She managed to get the door open. Her Mommy would be so proud. With that thought a soft giggle escaped her mouth as she tipped toed into Taylor’s room and saw her sleeping in a very unattractive position. With a wicked grin, she ran and hauled herself onto the bed screaming Taylor’s name. Taylor was her mom’s friend. With that scream, Taylor shot upright screaming “fire”. She heard the little girl’s giggle and groaned as she flopped back onto the bed. As her hands were tugged at, she protested. “Amber! Let me sleep!” “Nwope, yous gotta do mi bweakfat.” Taylor figured out what Amber just said, Damn Emma for having a right devil for a child. Making her breakfast at 8am. Way too early! She groaned again and gave in to Amber’s pleas. She couldn’t resist her puppy dog look – she tried so many times and failed. Next time she would try harder. With a cheer, Amber ran out of the bedroom and sat some cushions onto a chair in the kitchen and sat herself onto it. Oooh! High! Taylor asked Amber what she wanted for breakfast and rolled her eyes at the reply she received. Pancakes. It figured. Amber took after her mom too many times. Especially at breakfast. Amber was swinging her legs when she heard the front door open. Her face lit up and a happy squeal erupted throughout the room. She jumped off the seat she was sitting on and ran straight into Emma’s arms. She giggled when Emma said she missed her little monster. Her mother told Taylor not to bother cooking breakfast since she was taking Amber to meet Shane – which confused Amber at first but then she remembered she had a Uncle Shane. Whoohoo, she was going to meet her uncle?! Yaaay! Emma took Amber back into the spare room and got Amber dressed in her favourite dungarees with a light purple top. She put on her trainers and tied her daughter’s hair into two pigtails. She picked up Amber and left. Taylor however went back to bed after complaining that she was woken by the mini devil aka Amber for nothing. Charming! As the pair climbed into the car, Emma handed her little girl some sandwiches to eat for nose – she promised pancakes later. Well that was all Amber wanted to hear. She fidgeted a little at the prospect of her uncle not liking her. She knew everything, that Mark was her father and was in Westlife. Emma couldn’t lie to her baby about her father. She used to tell stories about her memories excluding that night with Mark. However, she knew that Shay would love Amber. Amber clutched her mom’s hand as they stepped inside the hospital after they pulled up in the car. Big place! It caused her to clutch Emma’s hand tighter, she didn’t want to get lost. She felt herself being picked up, she smiled and hugged her mom’s neck as they stood outside a room, where a man was sitting up in bed. He was alone. Emma opened the door and stepped in, holding Amber. Shay looked over and was stunned to see how much Amber looked like them both. He noticed his niece burying her head onto Emma’s neck. Aw, she was shy, he chuckled softly. Amber turned her head at that laugh and saw it came from her uncle. She liked him already, he sounded friendly. She gave him a soft smile and a wave. Emma placed her onto the bed and Shane carefully swooped Amber in his arms and hugged her lightly since he had broken ribs. They both heard Emma’s introduction. “Amber-Lei, this is your Uncle Shane. Shay this is Amber-Lei. My daughter.”
