Jump No. 1 Skydive Spaceland Twin-otter Icarus 365 Tandem 13,500 7/15/00 Nice exit. PRCP's done well. Good altitude awareness. Pull right on time. Thanks for a great Skydive. -Jim Parker The coolest thing I have ever done. I was really nervous before we went up, but my jumpmaster was really cool and kept reviewing everything, which made me much more confident. As soon as we left the plane I forgot all about the arch, but remembered VERY quickly. Pulled at 6,000. Nice cruise down to earth. Much smoother landing than I thought. I've found a new addiction. |

Jump No. 2 Skydive Houston Twin-otter 288 sos Aff 1 13,800 10/14/00 Good count and exit - stable / Circle of Awareness - 13,000' - arch signal / Practice Rip Cord Pulls - no problem / Circle of awareness - 11, 000 - no signal needed / lots of free time - 360 degree right turn / Back to the DZ / Altitude Awareness - good / 55 on time / Good Pull / Good canopy control and Landing / Fun Jump, NICE DIVE / OK for Level 2. -Mike Smith (and Kirk Boganegrio) I woke up at 5:30 AM in order to get to the DZ by 7:30. Nice Sunrise drive to start off the day. Arrived at the DZ, filled out the obligatory YOU'RE GOING TO DIE forms, waited for class to begin. Spent 8:30 until 4:30 in class. I learned the worst case scenario of everything. Fun stuff. Finally I was up. Originally on load 14, then 15, then I got to switch up to 13. I was the first AFF 1 student to go up. Nice ride up, ran through procedures several times. First group went out, we circled to my staging area, I moved up to the door. Check left, check right, out, in, ARCH! Maintained fairly good arch, except on my first COA I needed to move my arms from right angle to W. Did my practice pulls making sure to look at rip cord. (I missed the first practice pull.) Completed second COA. Chilled, played with my tounge, screamed, checked altimeter, repeated. Signaled at 5,500'. Looked, reached, pulled. I accidentaly threw away the rip cord. (whoops!) Checked my canopy, square, stable, steerable. Checked my Brake lines, and did practice flares. Did a 180 away from target, s-turned in staging, did a few 360's. Came in down road, left toward hanger, into wind, waited, waited, waited, (I could see blades of grass) flared about 10', and STOOD UP THE LANDING! I RULE!! Picked up my canopy and headed in. Again, I rule. |

Jump No. 2 Skydive Houston Twin-otter 288 sos Aff 1 13,500 11/10/00 Good exit, got legs- first circle of awareness. Good practice rip cord pulls- second circle of awareness. Good job on right and left turns, altitude checks, and forward movement. Good job- altitude checks. Signal five-five and pull on time- good canopy control and landing- good job. Onto Level Three. -David Johnson My best jump so far, but aren't they all? Learning to fly- aka, turn and track forward. Came a little unstable after the left turn, but I was aware of the horizon and corrected by pulling arch hard. Couldn't really feel the forward movement, but david says it was there, I just need to extend my legs more. Still need to relax my arch a bit. Stood up the landing again. I rule. Can't wait for the next. |
