Welcome to my updated pages for FALLER Auto Motor Sport.

This is an information and support site for those people interested in the FALLER AMS Slot Cars of the 60's - 80's.

This introduction page was posted on the 28th December 2001.  I will add links in due course.  At this stage I will not be advertising this page or submitting to search engines, so if you have found yourself here it is more by good luck than good intention.  But you are of course most welcome anyway.

For those visitors that do not enjoy English as their first language, I offer a "conditional" apology.  I tend to write in the same style as I talk.  Informally, and with a casual structure.  This may cause some difficulty in understanding.  Yet this is nothing compared to what English-only readers experience when visiting the many very good sites that are only in German,  French, Dutch, Swedish or whatever.

Everyone is welcome here, but I write in English for those that like to read in English.  It is mainly for them that this site exists.

FALLER IN NEW ZEALAND ??

There is no shortage of high-quality information in German, Dutch and a number of other European languages.

Almost all of the AMS-related publications produced by FALLER over the 20-odd years of production were available in English, and could be found in lands as far away as here in N.Z.  Even now, the general catalogues are still able to be found at swap-meets, internet auction sites, and by contact between like-minded enthusiasts etc.

In addition to the yearly catalogues there were also several supplemental publications.  These included technical brochures, original instruction leaflets, "new items" flyers as well as booklets written about the motor-racing and traffic topics in general.  Readers may be surprised to learn that out of the entire FALLER AMS publication range, only a relatively small number were not also available in English.

I hope that the updating of this website is helpful and interesting to other English-speaking enthusiasts.  This site also serves as an introduction to my Archive CDROM "The AMS Companion".  The CD is mainly comprised of images by way of catalogue scans.  As these total several hundred MB it is considerably more information than can possibly be hosted on a personal website.  The CDROM is not yet ready but has taken much of my time.

The material I have provided here is free for all to enjoy and share.  I ask only to be acknowledged if you use or refer to any of this material.  In turn I also acknowledge the help and assistance of many contacts who will be listed when time (and their approval) permits.

This is not intended to be a site that constantly changes.  That is mainly because the subject matter has not changed either.  Whatever items were available from the FALLER company during production is all that will ever be available and once the source material for an archive is exhausted, the archive by its nature is also complete.

Quite apart from this, to regularly redesign a personal website is very time-consuming as anyone who has done it will know.  I have been very focused in the information I hope will assist others.  From time to time I may make alterations to the content, however this is not a specific intention.  This is really a reference site for the first-time reader, and may also be useful to experienced enthusiasts returning to copy a specific item.  By all means check this site out from time to time, but please do not be dissappointed if you find after several months that it remains unchanged.  I rather hope it will be an enduring publication not unlike the catalogues and booklets on which it is based.

Of course during the actual construction, there may be a number of changes.  Initially this is a simple migration from my old site so there may not seem to be much difference at first.  I could wait until it was complete and then upload in one hit, but I prefer to do what I can, when I can and if even partial information helps someone along then that is a good thing.

In the meantime, you can still check out any files and images I have here by viewing the contents of the following folders or just the files from my original site...
