When I was around seven, I loved to hold doors open for people. Whenever I would go with Mom to get groceries or to the mall, I would hold the doors for anyone coming in behind me. I think that if more people opened doors for each other the world would be a better place.
This weekend my family was visting my older sister, and we ate at Wendy's. I haven't held doors open for people in quite a while, I forgot how much I used to enjoy it. My dad was way behind the rest of my family who'd already exited, so I didn't want to leave him behind. So I stood with the door open and let people go through whilst waiting on my dad. And then I remembered! The people I held the door for all said "thank you" and I smiled and said "you're welcome". And I was so happy for doing that. I remember being short and little and holding doors for people and loving it and I thought, this is something I've got to do more often.
So everyone, hold a door open for someone today.
:-)
