Trip in Time
I was recently reunited with my long, lost son...I know that sounds like really corny and 'soooo last century', but it's true! And as I've promised some of you (hmmmm...and maybe some of you don't even know about this recent "Event", but will see) here, now, is a little photojournalistic (hey, is that even a word?) trek, complete with editorial comments (heh heh) of a journey that's been a long time comin'...THIS saga will continue.
Back on Haight Street...34 years later...short-haired, rent car, credit cards...of course the store where I bought one of my first 'tapestries' (and which I still have!) was still there...somethings never change.
And yup, the flat where my son's father and I lived was still there (room/window just above me in pic)
Magnolia Cafe: Used to be called 'the Drogstore'...I came here often for a 10 cent cup of coffee...today I was there for trendy, overpriced food and microbrews (looks like I already had one too many...jeeezzz!)
My sister Di made the 'journey' with me to Cali...here, with my friend Scott at Magnolia Cafe
More 'freaks' hangin' on da cornah!
After the sumptuous 'hippie fare' at the Magnolia, Di, Scott and I hit the street to absorb the 21st century culture and hey, acting all touristy (who knew THIS would happen) at corner of Haight/Ashbury
Okay, so Fortuna, CA  is NOT the City. Di & I stayed at this place across from the Eel River/River walk...the day was brilliant.
And .here with Auntie Di
Speaking of 'brilliant'...here's the first meet with my son, Jerry
Lots to celebrate (Jer's Bday was on May 28th): The 'family' all gathered here for a BBQ at Jerry's &  Leslie's (Jer's wife, my daughter-in-law), her bestfriend Penny & Hubby, Les' Mom & Dad, Di (lookin' really weird...ha!)...and of course the 'Grill Sergeant', Jer :-)
Awwwww...ain't he cute?  'Classic' Jer :-)
And what a cute couple, huh? Leslie & Jerry on wedding day, June 2001
Me & the special little guy, Matthew
Me & Da Boyz: son,  Jer & little Matty, my grandson! (hey, ya think we're related?)
Da Boyz...smile!
Family...the Legend Continues (hey, did we color-coordinate for this one, or what?)
