Goin' Back to Cali...cont'd
Di & I took a couple of little side trips while we were in Humboldt county...
If you remember the truly ridiculous horror classic "Salem's Lot" (starring Ernest Borgnine), you may recognize these pictures as the Church and Graveyard (in the little town of Ferndale, CA) used in that piece of incredible celluloid.
Actually, Ferndale is a cute little Victorian village, which not only features the most 'farthest west' Hotel and Saloon, but some pretty wonderful architecture, like the 'Gingerbread House' pictured here
Di & I took a drive out to the South Jetty of Humboldt Bay...who knew deserted beaches actually exist!
A bit overcast on this day at the beach,  me & Di on the jetty overlooking the beach (before we actually knew we could drive around the corner and down on the beach...doh!)
It was beautiful this day we hit the beach, just a little north of Eureka!
"Hey, just cause I'm back here with the fruit, don't mean I'm a watermelon!"
Our trip back down to San Francisco, featured a visit to BIG FOOT COUNTRY!  Yeh...that's what I'm talkin' 'bout!
