The Canadian Side of Niagara Falls

We had been driving for 2 months when we reached Niagara Falls. We found a campground, set up, and
took the bus to town. In the museum, we saw all the successful crafts that made it over the Falls.
There were about fifty of them. The first lady went over the Falls with her black cat inside a
wooden barrel. She was a teacher who thought she'd make money from the publicity. She survived but
she never became rich. That night we caught the bus tour and saw everything for the first time.
At 10:00 we saw the laser show. The spectacular phenomenon of a laser hitting the mist made beautiful
colors. Then it was late so we went back to the trailer and slept until 6:00 A.M..
The next day we went to the Falls and rode the Maid of the Mist right up under the Falls
and the boat sat for a while. Then the boat turned back. After the boat ride we walked into the
catacombs behind the Falls where they had drilled giant portholes where you could look out and see
the wall of water. Outside, there was a platform where you could go right out and stand next to the
Falls. It felt like a shower of icicles hitting my face at a thousand miles per hour. It sounded
like thunder overhead. The pounding of the water was so hard and fast I could see the limestone
being eaten by the water. Behind the Falls I experienced nature's power and nature's beauty. This
experience changed my view of nature and took over my heart and soul.
