Autumn In Colonial Williamsburg

The colors of the trees here are pulsating. They are pure crayon yellow, green and red. We walked around the streets enjoying the architecture and the glorious day. We didn't buy the tickets which would have allowed us to speak with the living history interpreters because the cost was prohibitive-around $120 for our family of four. Since we had such a great experience at Plimouth Plantation we were content to stroll and poke around the shops. Our imaginations and our research filled in the rest of the story.

Fishing The Outer Banks

Alex wrote:

One day a boy was staying with his parents on the Outer Banks. He decided to go fishing. It was about 3:30 and a cloudy day. Still, it had not rained yet and there was not a lot of wind. He rigged his line and flung it out. He waited and waited. First, he caught a small crab, then he caught another small crab. By then it was 4:30 and already dark. He was surprised when the man next to him caught a baby shark. He helped the man and then went to check his one line. Lo and behold!!!! he had one too. The man said to throw it back. He did not really want to but... felt he had to. After he had caught the shark he went home for dinner but after dinner he went and fished some more. He caught another shark! This one he kept and ate for breakfast the next morning. He wants to fish forever.
