Chapter One Lying here with you, Listening to the rain. Smiling just to see, The smile upon your face. It all began the summer of my sophmore year at university. Though it is irrelevant, I was taking classes at Boston U full time. To say I wasn't a model would be an understatement. I stood tall at 5'8" but I was not toothpick thin. I had honey-brown hair with blonde highlights and it fell well below my shoulders. I usually wore it straight, but when I was lazy I would let it air-dry into natural waves. I have green eyes, as well. My full lips were always pink. I was not gorgeous, but this was me and I had come to accept it. I had gotten into the routine of running five miles every morning at seven, and I spent most of my summer days waitressing in a small café called "Contempo". I met him on a hot, humid day in August. We both had our own lives, dreams and ambitions but suddenly they collided. I remember it like it was yesterday, though a good ten years have passed since that day. I was only nineteen, he was twenty-one. Good looking, self-assured and fulfilled, he broke into my world without a commotion. I did not know that he would be the one to change me forever.
