Chapter Two And these are the moments, I thank God that I'm alive. And these are the moments, I remember all my life. I've found all I've Waited for, And I could not ask for more. I remember I was clearing a table at "Contempo" when he came in. I hardly looked up as he and his girlfriend breezed past me to look at our collection of vintage records and CD's for sale. A few minutes later, I seated them at a table in my section. After taking their drink orders, I left to prepare them. I heard an argument break out between the two, and a few minutes later, she stormed out of the shop. I placed his drink in front of him before I could take note of the tears in his eyes. He was staring out the window, completely oblivious to the hundreds of people bustling past, or the pouring rain, living, if only for a moment, in his own world. I asked him gently if he was alright, offering to help if he needed it. I was hoping he didn't see it as me prying into personal business. "Could you explain to me why love is so complicated?" he asked, not breaking his gaze with the cold, lifeless glass next to him. He motioned for me to join him at the table, and I did. "Well," I began slowly. "I can't tell you why love is complicated but I can tell you that when you meet 'the one', everything will be simple. At least that's what I'm hoping for." I looked out the window with him at the events of the outside world, and I was brought into his life.
