These are the Moments

Chapter Four

I could not ask for more than this time together,
I could ask for more than this time with you.
Every prayer has been answered,
Every dream I have's come true.
Right here in this moment,
Is right where I am meant to be.
Ohh here with you, here with me.

"Hi," I said, trying to be calm.

"Are you busy?" He asked, surveying the packed café.

"Kinda," I replied nonchalantly. "I get off work at ten, if you want to hang out for a bit."

He found a quiet booth at the back and I brought him a coffee and a slice of our famous apple pie.

"It's my treat." I said, placing it in front of him. The smile I received in return is indescribeable, but it had a boyish charm to it.

My shift seemed to drag on forever and when ten 'oclock finally rolled around, I eagerly changed into my normal clothes.

"I'm done." I said, approaching his table. He looked up from the book he was reading and stood up.

"Can you spare some time for a walk?" he asked.

"Well, I've got to meet my boyfriend at ten-thirty, but I think I can squeeze you in." I joked.

At first, I remember seeing a disappointed look cross his face. Then, he realised I was kidding and a small smile appeared.

"Well, I can't promise I'll be done with you by then." He winked.
