CS: Hi Jaki...this is Claudia Swan..calling about the interview with Chris Trousdale.
FOM: Hi..how are you?
CS: I'm good..are you ready to interview Chris?
FOM: Yes.
(( Claudia goes and gets Chris, while the recorder and the list of questions to ask Chris are gotten))
CT: Heyyyy Jaki...How are you?
FOM: Hey Chris. I'm good..home alone, though. My sister is going to be mad she missed this call.
CT: Awwww tell her I'm sorry, and that I say hello.
FOM: Will do. How are you?
CT: Sick actually..I've got a really bad cold, and a fever.
FOM: Aww I'm sorry to hear that..are you ready to get started?
CT: Yes of course.
FOM: How have you been doing since the breakup of Dream Street?
CT: Um..in the beginning it was hard and a little strange, but ever since I started doing the stuff with Play last year...it's been pretty incredible..but uh..definately a new trip and journey for me...as a solo artist. It's very very fun..I have a lot of fun being solo. You have alot more attention on yourself..you know you don't always have to stress out over other people..but yeah it's definately been a fun experience so far.
FOM: Was it weird for your performing in the same venue as Jesse last week?
CT: Oh uh..I guess it kinda was..cause we haven't talked since the breakup at all..so it was a little strange to uh..act like nothing happened, because alot did happen.. and yeah to say hi..but all in all there wasn't any negativity and I think we both were trying not to be very negative and try to play it cool..but it kinda worked out cause there wasn't too much tension..but you know the crowd was digging it..and I had alot of fun doing the show.
FOM: Can you describe your style of music on your solo cd?
CT: Um yeah..there's alot of good beats to the music for people to like dance and have fun..you know, party music. There's different stuff..like R&B and hip hop..stuff I'd never do with Dream Street.. and you've still got your clasic pop stuff and then you've got a spanish feel and rock.. there's like 3 or 4 songs that are very rock. Uh..I do have a song that's alot more older..you know I'm 18 now..it's called "Tongue Ring" it's about a girl with a tongue ring..you know, she's kinda a bad girl. And uh.. haha Claudia said you probably saw it, but this is for the fans who haven't heard it yet.
FOM: Yeah I saw you perform it last week.
CT: Did you like it?
FOM: Yeah I like your new style of music alot better than the Dream Street stuff.
CT: You do like it better?
FOM: Yeah..I do. It's alot more dancey...and upbeat and fun.
CT: Awesome..yeah dancey and fun!
FOM: Do you know when your cd is going to be released?
CT: Um I'm in the process of signing with a new label right now..so I can't say like the exact date..but..very very soon.
FOM: Is "The Biggest Fan" going to be released in theaters at all?
CT: Yeah..it should be in theaters later this year.
FOM: I'm sure all of your fans would like to know if you're single or not?
CT: I'm single..yes right now I am.
FOM: Are you planning on going to college now that you've graduated from high school?
CT: Yeah..not this year..because I'm working really hard on my album..but maybe next year when I have a little bit more time to myself depending on what happens with the cd...you can't put a career on hold, but you can always put going to college on hold. FOM: Yeah..that's true.
FOM: What is your favorite style of music to listen to?
CT: Um..really the top 40 stuff...like I really love everything. I like rock..punk.I love hip hop and R&B..even some, you know, country songs. Not to much though..I'm not really heavy on country.
FOM: Mmm..yeah.
((both laugh))
FOM: Who are some of your favorite artists?
CT: Umm..right now..Christina Aguilera is doing really good right now. I like her alot. Her music is great, and her voice is incredible. I really don't have like certain people..hmm..I do like the Black Eyed Peas.. Justin.. Mya....Mya..yeah..I like Mya..she's really good. But yeah..I dunno..
FOM: So you like more of the R&B kinda stuff?
CT: Yeah..and then I like other stuff.. I just don't know the names of the people. I like "Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous."
FOM: Oh, by Good Charlotte.
CT: Yeah..Good Charlotte. ((starts singing the chorus to the song))....I know it. There's other rockers I like, I just don't know the names.
FOM: Simple Plan?
CT: Uh huh..
FOM: Yeah..they're good.
FOM: New Found Glory?
CT: Yepp..New Found Glory.
FOM: The Starting Line.
CT: Yeah..oh and I like that one song by Blu Cantrell..and Sean Paul.
FOM: Ohhh yeah..yeah..yeah.
CT: What is it? "Just Breath"? (( Sings some of the words to the song..and we both laugh ))
FOM: Did you pull any senior pranks this year?
CT: Ohh..actually yes..this past June. I kinda did...because I didn't show up for my graduation on time. I kinda tricked them. They thought I wasn't coming.
FOM: ((chuckles))
CT: And I kinda came in late..like right before the ceremonies started..and I showed up with my cap and gown right when it started and they were like "Oh my god..we didn't think you were gonna show up." But I did..and yeah ((mocking himself..and says in a weird tone)) I wasn't coming to my own graduation. It was funny. And my mom and everyone was like rushing to get there...cause I actually kinda forgot where it was you know?
((both laugh))
CT: And I showed up, but everyone thought I wasn't going to be there, but I was. They even did my speech and I was like "I'm here." and they're like "Oh..whoops!"
((both laugh again))
FOM: Which song did you like recording better.."I'm gonna make you love me" or "You're The One That I Want."
CT: Ohhhh...thats hard.
CS: What is?
CT: Which song I liked recording better..Nikki..or Play. They were two different experiences. With the Play girls.. I was actually with them in the recording studio..like they got to here me do it, whereas with Nikki.. I didn't meet her until we did choreography for the song. We kind of recorded seperately. So they were two different experiences, but I guess they were both equally fun.
FOM: Last question...Describe each of your dancers in three words.
CT: Each of my dancers?
FOM: Yeah..
CT: Okay.. Uhh..Jonte is spontanious..crazy, but funny. Hysterical actually. Claudia is sweet, a kick butt dancer, and my best friend.
FOM: Awww.
CT: Uhh.. Ryan is quiet..and uh..well actually Ryan just left. Yeah Ryan's not really with us anymore, but..We have another dancer named Shawn ( editors note: Sean maybe? don't know the spelling lol)..but he's uh..what is he Claudia?
CS: He's Hawaiian
CT: He's Hawaiian
((we both laugh))
CT: So he teaches us Hawaiian stuff all the time. but he uh..he's kinda shy, so he's not as outgoing. And he's really kind, like he would never hurt anybody. Narie..Narie is funny too..she's sweet..I said that with Claudia too. ((laughs)). She is quiet, because she doesn't speak much English. She's adorable, and she's very loving. But yeah.. I love all of my dancers. Let's see...and I am... no I'm kidding.
