Tai walked home after a long hard day at work.. He was hoping to get home fast and was taking a short cut. He grimaced at his idea, it definitely wasn't the scenic route; all the buildings were old and crumbling, and the streets were more or less deserted. He turned the collar up on his business suit in a futile effort to keep warm.
The Stranger
Rating: PG
Notes: Takes place 10 years after the first season. The digidestined have all seperated, each going there seperate ways. No one has seen each other for almost as long.
Disclaimer: I don't own digimon. I also don't own the song "Another day in paradise" by Phil Collins. I have made some alterations to make it fit. The *He* was origionally a *she*
Enjoy!!
*He calls out to the man in the street*
Tai turns towards the voice.
*`Sir can you help me? It's cold and I've no where to sleep; isn't there somewhere you can turn me?'*
Tai turns away from the other man in disgust. The man had looked to be around Tai's age, dressed in a dirty shirt that was torn in too many places to count. He was covered from head to foot in dirt, and was thinner than a rail.
Tai started walking faster.
*He walks on, doesn't look back, he pretends he can't hear him. Starts to whistle as he crosses the street, seems embarrassed to be there*
Tai hoped that the other would leave him alone. He started softly whistling and kept on walking, hoping to get out of the area soon.
*Oh, think twice, it's another day for you and me in paradise. Oh, think twice, just another day for you, you and me in paradise*
Tai stopped walking.
*He calls out to the man in the street*
Tai turns around in annoyed frustration.
*He can see he's been crying. He's got blisters on the soles of his feet, can't walk but he's trying*
The stranger limped forward, leaning on a building for support. His blue eyes glistening.
*Oh no....is there nothing that anybody can do?*
Curious now, Tai steps closer as the other man watches him, looking exhausted.
*Oh no...there must be something you can change*
Tai took a few more steps closer, wondering who this man is.
*You can tell from the lines on his face, you can see that he's been there*
There was pain in his eyes, Tai witnessed it a second before the stranger collapsed, tired and starving, into the street.
*Probably been moved on from every place, cause he didn't fit in there*
Tai bent down next to him and turned him over on to his back. "Are you okay?"
He nodded. "Thanks Mr.---"
"Kamiya, Tai Kamiya"
"Taichi?" he asked confused.
"Yes? And who are you?" Tai was confused now, too.
"Matt Ishida," he passed out as Tai stared in shock.
