Author's Note:William is 3 years old and Mulder and Scully are living together in her apartment as a family. They will have many suprises in their future. Some good and some that will test their love for each other as a family.(Season 9 never happened for this story except for the episodes Providence and Provance.)

Scully finished dressing her 3 year old son. He had gotten so big in the last year. She was sure she would have to buy him a new wardrobe in a few months. He never stopped growing it seemed to her.

"There you are Will. Why don't you go wake up daddy?"

"Okay Mama."

She smiled as he went into her and Mulder's bedroom to wake him up. She followed her son and went into her room. She found Will jumping on the bed and Mulder beggining to stir. Soon he was wide awake. A little startled by his son but awake.

"Morning son."

He looked over to Scully who was at the foot of the bed watching them.

"Will did your mother put you up to this?" Mulder asked couriously

"She told me to wake you up.",he told his father innocently.

"She did. Well I guess your job is done. Why don't you go in your room and play with your toys so your mom and I can get dressed."

"Okay daddy."

Soon William left the room. Scully began going through her closet picking out one of her suits. She didn't notice Mulder get out of bed and come up behind her. He put his arms around her and began to kiss her neck.

"Mulder were gonna be late for the meeting."

"What meeting?" he replied playfully.

"Mulder we don't have time for this. I told Skinner we would be in the office at Nine. It's already 15 minutes after eight and we still have to eat."

"Come on Scully the meeting can wait."

"Mulder we have to get ready NOW.",she replied angrily.

She left the room and went into the bathroom. Mulder looked through the closet. His suits were on one side and hers were on the other. He pulled one out and began to change.

After he finished getting dressed he went to check on William. He stared in at his son who was playing with his toys on the floor. He couldn't believe how much time had gone by since he was born. Seemed like only yesterday he could hold him in his arms.

Scully opened the bathroom door and went into the kitchen to make Will something to eat. She looked throught the cupboards. She forgot to go to the store again. She decided Cereal would have to do for breakfest.

After they all ate they got into the car. Mulder put the key in the ignition and started the car. They dropped Will at Scully's mother's house for the day then they went to the FBI building where they worked.

Mulder and Scully ran into the building they were already late for the meeting. They walked into the conference room. Several people were seated around the table with two empty chairs left. Mulder and Scully apologized for being late and took their places.

Twenty minutes into the meeting Scully began to get very warm. She felt like she was going to throw up. Mulder looked over and saw that Scully was sweating a lot. He leaned over to her.

"Scully are you alright?"

"Mulder I am so hot and I feel like I am gonna throw up."

Mulder immediatly jumped into the meeting,"Um could we take a ten minute recess. My partner is feeling very well."

"Alright but no more than ten minutes."

Scully got up from her seat and left the room. She went into the restroom. She washed some cool water on her face. She felt dizzy. She left the restroom and saw Mulder waiting for her.

"You feeling any better?"

"Mulder I think tha..."

All of a sudden she fainted and before she hit the floor Mulder caught her.

"I need an ambulance. Somebody call an ambulance!"

A few hours later Scully was in a hospital bed asleep. Mulder was beside her holding her hand. The doctors didn't know what was wrong with her. They wanted to wait until she woke up to ask her some questions and run a few tests.

All of a sudden Mulder felt her hand move.

"Scully...Scully can you hear me. It's me Mulder. Come on Scully you gotta wake up."

Her eyelids opened a crack and she looked over at Mulder's familier face. She reached out her hand to touch his face. He felt her icy cold hand touch his warm face.

"Scully you scared me."

"Mulder thirsy...water."

Mulder brought the glass of water over to her lips. She took a small sip of water then she layed her head back against the pillow.

Soon a doctor and a nurse came in to check on her.

"I see your awake Miss Scully. I'd like to ask you a few questions and run a couple of tests."

"Are you up to that?"

Scully shook her head yes.

"Alright. Have you ever had past experience of dizziness, fever, and faint before."

"No"

"When was your last monthly?"

"My monthly what does that have to do with anything?"

"Well it might in your case."

"Ah...about two months ago."

"Well I am gonna run a blood test to be sure, but in all liklihood you are probably pregnant."

Scully looked up at him in shock. She couldn't believe this was happening. Could it really be true. A second child for her and Mulder. She looked over at Mulder. Whose eyes were filled with hope.

A few minutes later the nurse came back in to draw some blood. Then her and Mulder were left alone for awhile.

"Mulder what if it's true?"

"Then it will truly be a Miracle Scully."

"Your happy about this right?"

"Yeah I am very happy it's just we weren't expecting to have another child I guess. It's all so sudden."

Soon the doctor came in and he confirmed that she was indeed pregnant. Mulder hugged Scully. They both were happy for the wonderful news of Scully's unexpected pregnancy.

A few days later Scully sat at her desk in her and Mulder's office. She finished her field report from their last case. All of a sudden she felt dizzy again. She took a few deep breaths and it finally passed. A few minutes later Mulder entered the room. He went over to his desk and began to finish up the case they had been working on.

A few hours later they heard a knock on the door. Mulder looked up from his computer and said,"Come in."

Soon their old pal Agent Doggett and Reyes came in. Doggett had been reassigned to homicide with Reyes as his partner.

"What can we do for you two?",Mulder asked them.

"We just heard the good news.",Reyes replied to Mulder's question.

"Good news? What good news?",Mulder asked her puzzled.

"About the baby of course."

Scully blushed a little the replied,"Who told you?"

Doggett replied,"Skinner told us. We wanted to say how happy we are for the two of you."

"Thanks. We appreciate. Don't we Mulder?"

"Yeah we do I guess."

"Well we gotta go. Got to finish a case were working on."

A few weeks later Scully layed in bed. Her belly was just beginning to show. She put her hand down to her stomach. She couldn't wait to tell Mulder the gender. Last time she didn't tell anyone because she didn't want anyone to know before Mulder knew. Soon she heard the door open.

Mulder walked into their apartment. He put his coat on the rack and then put his keys on the kitchen table. He went into his bedroom to change. He saw Scully was awake.

"Your Home Mulder. I missed you so much."

"Yeah I'm home. I missed you too. Where's Will?"

"He's spending the night at my mother's so we can spend a little time alone."

"Well I won't argue with you. How did your appointment go?"

"It was wonderful. The doctor even told me what gender the baby is."

"Oh he did. Are you gonna share with the rest of us?"

"Yep. Mulder were having a little girl."

"A girl. That sounds so wonderful."

"Now we have to think of names and we have to get a room ready. Speaking of which Mulder where are we gonna put the baby?"

"Why don't we turn the office down the hall into a nursery?"

"Alright. I love you Mulder. Thank you for giving me a little girl."

"I love you too Scully. I will always love you no matter what."

A few days later Mulder left his apartment and went back to work on the case he and Scully had been working on. Scully was being ordered by her doctor to take a short leave from work and rest.

Scully sat in bed with pillows proped up behind her back. She was now 5 months pregnant. Her feet ached and she felt so tired all the time. She was reading a book on what pregnancy was like the second time around when she heard the front door open with a violent sound as if someone had kicked it open. Then she heard two shots. She got up out of bed and went into the bathroom and locked the door.

A man had broken into the apartment. He looked through all the rooms. He did not find what he was looking for. He saw the closed bathroom door and imediatly tried opening it. Then he tried opening it by force. When that didn't work he opened fire. He turned the handle and the door opened. There on the ground curled up in a ball was the woman he had been looking for. He pointed the gun at her.

"Get up Now."

Scully did as he said. He pulled a piece of rope from his jacket. He tied her hands behind her back. Then he tied a handkerchief around her mouth.

"I want you to do exactly as I say or you will never see your boyfriend or your son again."

Scully shook her hand saying that she understood. He took her out of the apartment and put her in his truck. Then he drove for awhile until they reached his home. He brought her inside and into the living room. He untied the handkerchief and her hands.

"Now I want you to call your boyfriend and tell him that you are taking a little vacation."

"He won't believe me. I am five months pregnant and on short leave from work. He'd know I was lying."

"Do it anyway unless you want to die right now."

Scully picked up the phone and dialed Mulder's cell phone. It rung three times when she heard the firmiliar voice she had come to love over the years.

"It's me Mulder. I am calling because I need a vacation from you and Will. Just for a couple of days. I need to think about the way things are."

"Scully your five months pregnant. Do you think now is the time to be taking a vacation? And alone?"

"Mulder I can take care of myself. Tell William that I love him and I'll be back as soon as I can."

"Scully I think we should come along with you."

"Mulder I need you to understand. I have to do this now. I love you Mulder. I love you so much."

"Scully I love you too. You are coming back?"

"I don't know right now Mulder."

Suddenly the phone went dead.

"Scully. Scully! Are you there!?! Answer the phone!"

Mulder knew something was wrong immediatly. He hung up the phone and ran to Skinner's office.

"Sir I think someone is holding Scully against her will. I just got a strange call for her telling me she needed a vacation and that she didn't know if she was ever coming back."

"Alright I get as many agents as I can to start a search party. In the meantime go back to your place check if anything is out of place. And Mulder be careful. They might still be at your apartment."

Mulder ran off to his car and then drove to his apartment. The first thing he notice was that the front door was bashed in. Also the bathroom door was damaged. Showing that someone forced entry.

Several hours later a note was slipped under Mulder's office door. He picked it up and began to read it. He looked outside of the door and saw no one. He read it one more time to himself.

Scully is still alive. If you want to see her alive then come to the following address for further instructions. Come alone, or she will die. I'll be watching don't do anything you will regret.

Mulder drove as fast as he could. He had to find Scully and protect her and their unborn daughter from harm. He would do anything to save them. Even give his own life. Soon he reached the address. He pulled into the gravel driveway. He shot off the car and got out of the vechile. Before he could reach for his gun a man appeared with a gun in hand pointed at Mulder.

"Come over here slowly."

He did as the man asked.

"Now give me your gun."

Mulder reached behind his back and pulled out his gun. Then he handed to the man.

"Follow me."

The man led Mulder into the house. They came in the back door. Then through the kitchen to the living room. Eventually up the stairs to a bedroom. Mulder walked in the bedroom door. He found Scully handcuffed to the bed. She was sitting up and she was unharmed. Mulder ran to her and put his arms around her.

"Oh God Scully you scared me half to death."

"I'm alright Mulder."

Mulder turned around to face the man,"Why are you doing this to us? Can't you let us live in peace?"

"Sit down. I am gonna tell you something. You can choose to believe or not. But your gonna hear."

Mulder sat beside Scully. He reached for her hand. She placed it in his.

"When your son was born, and you Mulder went into hiding he had two different paths chosen for him. When you lived his path was chosen to follow in your footsteps and stop the alien race. Now your daughter will take his other path that was chosen for him, but he did not take. She will lead the alien race. One day they will meet and one of them will kill the other, and decide the fate of all mankind."

Mulder looked at him,"Why should we believe you? How do we know any of this is true?"

The man spoke,"You of all people Agent Mulder. Who have spent a decade and more of your life searching for the truth in this quest. Now you have in your children."

"I think that you are trying to scare us. Make us go into hiding. Well I won't let that happen to my family. My children are normal. They will choose their own paths.",Mulder replied determined.

Scully finally spoke,"It's true Mulder. When you went into hiding for those few months and Will was kidnapped. The agent who was lying in the hospital told us this. He said that if you died he would lead the alien race. That's why they wanted you dead."

Mulder looked in disbelief. He couldn't believe that anyone could make his children have a future of death and turmoil.

"Scully I won't let them ruin our family. They have tried to before. But this time we all be together."

The man spoke was again,"You will not be together long. The aliens are coming for Scully. They won't stop until they have her."

"Why do they want Scully?",asked Mulder.

"They will make sure this baby is born. There is a way that this can be prevented."

"How?"

"You must kill the child before it is born. Otherwise it will be too late."

Mulder became angry,"Your asking us to take the life of the child that we created, and want so badly. I will never kill my own child. I won't let anyone else kill her either. She will be born. She didn't have the choice to be concieved and to grow inside of her mother. But I do have the choice if she will live or not. And She will LIVE!"

"Mulder I won't let anyone kill her either, but if they want something they always get it, and they want our baby girl.",replied Scully as she put her hand on the small mound of her belly. Mulder put his hand over hers.

"Are you gonna let us go?"

"Yes, but if you leave here you do under your own will. I have given you all the knowledge, but if you will not listen. So be it."

Soon Mulder and Scully were in their car. Mulder drove quickly to Scully's Mother's house. Scully and Mulder went inside quickly.

William saw his parents first. He went to them and gave them a big hug.

Scully spoke softly to her son,"Will I need you to go with your daddy and get your things together as quickly as you can. Okay?"

"Okay Mommy.",replied Will as he went into the other room with his father.

Scully mom asked,"Dana what's going on? I thought that you weren't coming to get his until later this evening."

"Mom there has been a change of plans. We need to get out of the city for a while. It's along story. I will call you as soon as we get settled. I love you Mom."

"I love you too Dana. Take care of yourself."

Soon they were leaving the city after stopping off at their apartment to get some of their belongings. They found a motel outside of town and checked in.

Mulder held onto Scully. He held onto her for dear life. He didn't want to ever loose her. He put his hand on her stomach. He could feel his child moving inside of the woman that he loved. How could anyone ask him to kill something so precious. Something that he and Scully had created out of love.

A few hours later a bright light came through the windows. The windows shattered and it awoke Mulder and his family. William screamed and ran into his parents room.

"Mama, Daddy what's happening?"

"Will get over here know."

Will ran to the bed and Mulder picked up his son and put him between him and Scully. The light beamed directly on Scully. Mulder looked as the targeted onto to her body ready and waiting to take her and their unborn child away. Mulder moved closer and grabbed her.

"Leave us alone. Haven't you done enough. Just leave her be. I can't live without her. Don't you understand she is all I have."

Soon the light moved onto Mulder as well and they were beamed up into the ship. Leaving their son behind. Will watched as his parents were taken away on the ship that dispeared into the night sky.

Mulder and Scully were transported into a large room. They held onto to one another not sure what was to come.

Then they came. The aliens walked in and stood all around them. Mulder held onto Scully even more not wanting to let her. He knew what they were going to do. Take her away and do terrible tests on her.

Mulder felt something come down hard on his head. He fell onto the ground falling into a world of blackness. Scully immediatly went to Mulder's aid but the aliens took her away from him.

When Mulder awoke he was on a table strapped down. The room was pure white. It looked like a medical ficility. He began to remeber what happened. He began to scream for Scully. Soon the bright lights went on. He stared over at the table next to him. There was Scully who lay unconscious. Her shirt had been pulled back and her belly had been exposed. The aliens came in. One of them picked up what looked to be a knife. They made a cut into her belly.

"Noooo! Leave Her ALone!",Mulder screamed in desperation of unable to stop them from hurting her.

The aliens soon had her blood on them as they put their hand inside of her. After a few seconds they sewed her belly up and then pulled her shirt down. Mulder didn't understand what they were doing.

Then all of a sudden a bright light came and then there was darkness. He opened his eyes and he was back in the hotel. Scully was beside him. He pulled her shirt back. There was a faint scar from what looked like a cut. He knew it couldn't have been a dream.

A few days later Scully and Mulder sat in Skinner's office. He was reading a field report on their last case. Mulder didn't want Scully working but she insisted. So while Will was staying with Scully's mother Mulder and Scully decided that they wanted to work.

"I think everything is in order.",replied Skinner after he finished reading.

Mulder replied,"As you can see given the odd nature of the case that Mrs. Holdgrin wasn't and abductee, but was in fact a crack addict."

Skinner's phone rang,"Skinner. Alright. Send them in."

Scully looked at him puzzled,"Sir?"

Agent Reyes and Agent Doggett walked into the room. Mulder and Scully looked at each other and then at A.D. Skinner.

"Agent Reyes and Agent Doggett are being reassigned to The X files. Deputy Director Kersh believes that the two of you should have more help with another child on the way. So he asked me two pick two agents and here they are."

Scully replied,"It's and honor to be working with the two of you again. Isn't it Mulder?"

"Well I can't think of two more agents more familiar or more loyal to The X files then the two of you."

So for the next two week everyone got used to working together. Scully and Mulder shared a desk while Doggett and Reyes shared a desk. Mulder and Doggett left one afternoon to go get food for everyone while Scully and Reyes stayed behind and finished typing their field reports.

Scully looked over at Monica. Monica stared back over at Scully.

"Is something wrong?",she asked.

"No I was just thinking about you and John. How are things getting along with you two?"

"Things have been actually getting pretty serious.",Monica replied as she showed Scully the big rock her left hand.

"Your engaged. That's wonderful."

"Yeah he proposed to me a few weeks ago. How about you?"

"I don't know if wedding bells will be ringing for this couple anytime soon."

"You want to get married right?"

"Yes of course. It's just that Mulder and I have never actually dicussed it. I am not sure if he is ready for that kind of commitment."

"Well you have a child together, and will have another very soon. Your both living together. It is almost like you are married."

"Yeah, but Marriage would make it official, and I don't want to press him about it."

As Mulder and Doggett were driving back to the office after picking up the food.

"How is Dana's pregnancy progressing?",asked John.

"Good. The doctor says that she needs to eat more though. She hasn't gained enough weight as she should."

"Are you thinking of marriage in the near future."

"Well actually I have been thinking about it for a long time, and I know Dana wants us to be married. The truth is I wasn't ready three years ago when Will was born."

"And know?",asked John.

"Know I want to get married. The truth is I have the engagment ring I just haven't found the right time to tell her. With Will around we don't get a lot of privacy."

"Well why don't Monica and I take him tonight and you can pop the question to her."

"That would be great."

Later on that night Mulder finished lighting the candles. He heard the door open. He saw Scully walk in, put her keys on the table and take off her coat. Then she turned on the light. She saw Mulder and the romantic meal he had done.

"Oh Mulder, how sweet."

"Well we have been so busy lately I haven't been able to show you how much I love you."

As they sat down to eat. Scully was eating her food when she felt something hard as she swallows. She starts to gasp for breath as she chokes on the ring. Mulder jumps up and starts to pat her back. Scully starts to turn red. Finally she able to cough it up. She stares at it as it layes on her plate. Tears are forming in her eyes.

"Geez, last time I put a ring in your food. This wasn't the way I wanted to propose to you. I nearly killed you and this was suppose to a special time and I go and do something stupid that almost kills you."

"Oh Mulder, Yes. Yes I'll marry you."

A month later Mulder stood at the alter beside his best man A.D. Skinner. He watched as his beautiful bride walked down the aisle. Although she was six months pregnant she still looked beautiful to him.

When she reached him. He grabbed her hand and then walked up to the pastor. He began the ceremony. When they said their vows he kissed her. Then they walked down the aisle as husband and wife.

Soon they were on a plane to Hawii for five days. They were reluctant to leave Will behind, but they enjoyed having some time to themselves before the baby came.

As they were about to land Mulder reached over and put his and ontop of Scully's and gave her a smile. She smiled back at him. Her face filled with so much joy in the world.
