Concrete Street Amphitheatre, Corpus Christi,
Texas,
9th March 2002
First the set-list:
Democracy
Song.Com
Wait For The Blackout
Amen
New Rose

Neat Neat Neat
Smash It Up (Part 2 only)
(Love Song was supposed to be played between Blackout and Amen, but was left out. No reason behind this, it was just a cockup).
This was an open air show by the way.
Everybody including myself agreed that this was the best show so far with the best reception from the crowd. Captain opened the show by telling the audience that the Damned are playing with Sinistar and Rob Zombie on a tour against dance music. This seemed to win a large part of the crowd over right away, as they cheered, and again, all in all, it was definitely the best reception so far. Vanian told the crowd that New Rose was written before anyone of them were born. And when they finished Cap told them that it was way past their bedtime and that they should all go home.
Now that they've survived Texas, things should only get better.
There was also an announcement in the speakers just before the Damned went on, proclaiming that anyone throwing stuff at stage would be removed from the premises.
About the Damned's sound. It really has been great every night except for Houston where the vocals were a bit too low. But again, remember the Damned are doing everything live except for the sound bites for e.g. Amen and Democracy. Rob Zombie, on the other hand, uses backing tracks for most of his sound including the bleeding guitar solos!! This explains how he gets that huge sound.
