Captain Sensible was in his normal hilarious drunken English form, including asking for a cigarette from a fan, then stomping it out on stage, saying cigarettes will kill you and to stick to drugs:P Requesting and getting the disco ball attached to the ceiling dropped over the crowd for those he remarked sarcastically were "going to the Disco after we get done our show" (Alchemy industrial dance night is next store to the concert stage) which spurred Pinch to his best Sisters of Mercy "Hey Now, Hey Now Now" for the audience. He also seemed to enjoy picking on the much maligned sound man but announcing "Ladies and Gentleman Mr.Barry Gibb!!!!".
The band seemed to be having a good time and it was a great show. I have been a Damned fan for years and it seems many folks have missed out on them seeing as the 90's were frought with long periods of inactivity and lack of new material. The band seems rejuvenated and the new songs really rock!
The Captain pulled his pants down after the encore of "Smash it up" and poured beer down his ass, then walked all the way to the dressing room bare ass to the wind..the band sounded really tight and overcame some early sound problems..Dave's voice is still large and booming after these years, I was surprised, he has become quite the dancer it seems..now I know where Morissey stole all his moves..hehhehehe
I would love to talk to some local Damned fans in MD/DC/VA drop me a line at sham2475@comcast.net
