Montey's, Knaresborough
Sunday 25th April 2004
After the T.Rextasy Concert we then set off to Knaresborough which is set in Yorkshire near York, where the following night The Damned were playing, with the charismatic Captain Sensible.
We arrived in Knaresborough a fine Sunny Day to the stories of the Captain singing in a local Karakoe Bar, what a geezer what kind a star who has such a huge following would do that!
We missed that but arrived at the venue Monteys Rock Cafe were 400 Punk Fans were boogying to Amen The Damned performed the the night before and some changes had to be made. A Bigger Stage and barriers. To our amazement we had met Captain Sensible in the Market Square were we had a great talk about Marc Bolan and the Captain even allowed photos and signed my T-shirt, What a lovely guy.
We Met a lot of Fantastic Punk fans who had travelled from Bristol (Mark we promise to send you photos)
The Damned played various tracks of which we sang along to, all too soon the concert was in a frenzy and fans just loved it. I have great respect for the Punk Fans and vice -versa we made a lot of friends and hope that I get a chance to see the Damned again.
It's a shame T.Rextasy and the Damned couldn't do a gig together that would be a Gas It was a truly remarkable & fantastic weekend, if you want to see T.Rextasy they are coming to your local area soon. (They play the Leeds Irish centre on 30th September.)
